Wow - have to say I really thought this would be the year when Norv went, having missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season

tbf they did lose most of their probowl o line through injury. any team struggles when that happens, but it goes unnoticed unlike if a top wr, rb or qd gets crocked.

Norv's a great regular season coach, bad playoff coach. There are a couple of NHL coaches like that. I would just love to see an owner have the balls to go with a 2 coach system.  Maybe the 2nd in command could be the main playoff coach.
Norv was done in by injuries and a bad QB funk for most of the year.  2012 is his last chance though.

Not sure I'd describe him as a great regular season coach, I think he has one of the most talented rosters in football and has done since his time began in San Diego.
I'm not surprised he kept his job though, Spanos knows how close Norv and Rivers are, they can't afford to upset their franchise QB or they'll go into draft in turmoil.
I think they have 11 of their roster that become free agents as of now, so the franchise have plenty of work to do before 2012 season without having to deal with new coach, new QB, and the new schemes that go along with them....

Norv 'a great regular season coach'?

Its official...Still standing is the Chargers owner.

Norv should have been fired 2 years ago.
