Some serious rumours going around he is out for the season and needs a second neck surgery.

Waiting to be confirmed.

Long hard season ahead for Colts fans if this news is true.

Filed to ESPN from @mortreport: Peyton Manning is being revaluated by several doctors bc of slow progress. No other procedure planned now.

this was tweeted by the Fan (local indy station) but Jim Irsay retweeted that it wasn't true

I nearly picked him up in fantasy - phew

the texans have just won the afc south...

The radio guy who said Peyton would be out for the season must know something because his comments have created a heap of reaction.
Irsay answered rumours by saying today that Peyton did not have a second procedure on Monday, of course the most recent rumours flying around are about him having a second procedure today (Thur).
Perhaps Peyton is the first high profile victim of the lockout

Sad news for Colts fans. But remember when Brady was injured for the Pats they went 11-5 with a very inexperienced QB and the AFC South isnt the strongest. The Texans always find a way to shoot themselves in the foot, the Titans and Jags are both brutal. Having said that i think they are fooked Laugh

get yer trade offers in to whoever is unlucky enough to have drafted manning! Devil

Doesnt look good for manning does it

They should bring in someone better than Collins. He isn't going to get it done

Could the Colts make a move for David Garrard? It was madness the Jags letting him go so close to the season. You would have to wonder is there more to it than a footballing decision.
Report horse9 September 8, 2011 9:03 PM BST
It's everywhere that Manning had a further procedure this morning with a recovery period on 2-3 monthw.
He's done and so are the Colts, fair play to all those who backed the Texans at 7/4 or thereabouts...

People forget that Carson Palmer is still out there - I'm convinced the Bungals will crack and take a trade for him, especially as his stock is rising all the time he doesn't play....

The Colts offense is pretty good, but that defense wouldn't scare a bunch of school kids.  If Manning is out for the year, and I think he will be, they won't win more than 3 or 4 games.

Colts to enter the Andrew Luck stakes?

cant believe the colts price for the division...at last houston are taking the south
Report Tucho September 11, 2011 7:27 PM BST
can we retrospectively give peyton the mvp award for each of the last 10 seasons or so

he's obviously been EVERYTHING to that team, they are lost without their qb/on field head coach
Report HARRY22 September 11, 2011 7:45 PM BST
manning is supreme...runs the whole colts franchise i think lol...no other player in football would be missed more at their club,,FACT
Report cunnybobbler September 11, 2011 7:58 PM BST
i didnt know manning was out longterm, looked at the odds and thought holy hell 9/4 colts for the division?!? they should be about 4/5.

then i saw manning had another op and could miss the entire season. saw colts 5/2 for the division and thought holy hell they should be about 50/1!

best qb in the history of the game probably. not that ive seen them all obviously. but for me better than even tom brady by a long way. the guys incredible. cant believe the stick hes got over the years for losing playoff games etc. hes been a winner all the way, surrounded by a very average team apart from the odd quality player like dallas clark.
