I took Unders in the Bosox/Yanks, and was doing some work with the game on mlb tv. I was just about to go to bed, when Boston scored 4 in the top of the seventh ... so I had to stay up to see what happened.

Now THAT'S ridiculous Happy

You're actually not far off, Pounf:

A seven year study of baseball results produced the following winning percentages and betting results:

Underdogs: 6917 and 9644 for -153 units
Favourites: 9619 and 6891 for -641 units

Agreed with alot of what has been said and like alot of american sports due to long seasons alot of games don't mean anything but i honestly think MLB is much easier to win on than say hockey or NBA, I work through the night and end up watching lots of games, my main angle is following teams on streaks and pitchers on streaks, it's 162 game season and over that time all teams and pitchers get on streaks, the trick is getting them early, the prime example being DBacks at the moment, average team playing above themselves at the moment and finding ways to win even when behind late, like most things in life you probably start getting belief in yourself after a few wins and also why teams probably go on terrible losing runs and start making loads of errors, trust me you can defo win on baseball if you watch enough of it

I struggled at first betting on baseball but I now look at underdogs. Especially stronger teams playing away with good starters and on a streak. Very similar to Dennis. Orioles point of stats is worthy of note. Especially as baseball gives a higher statistical sample over other leagues, due to sheer number of games per season each team plays. If your selections are good and you can find value as well you can make a profit on baseball betting by backing underdogs.

I was told by a friend who wins money at the game just to be very selective and only bet dogs[underdogs]. With the length of the season each game means very little in isolation and you get some good prices opposing the overbet teams like the yankees, redsox etc.

Spot on!

Straks is the word.
Heres a little system , work out the batting average for each teams hitters

One for the season and the other for the previous two weeks, look for the teams that have a two week average  higher than the season aveage , and bet them when they are playing a team with a higher season average than two week average.

You can also do the same for pitchers , when all the ducks line up you have a nice little bet

For a bit of interest having a small double on the two late games...

BOS/DET Over 7.0 1.86
CIN/ATL Over 7.5 1.95

£12.37 pays £45.15
