Im going to be the commisioner of this league and just wanted a few ideas.

What do people think of running the FAAB waiver system or should we just stick to the traditional method.

I run a laissez faire kind of dictatorship not the hard nosed butch way of Uncle O. Think of me as a younger, hipper, better looking version of our glourious forum leader :).

Oh but the trades will be decided by myself and processed for next day availabilty.  I dont like the voting system.

Maybe we should stick to the traditional method this season to see how FAAB works out in the Vets League. If it works there, we can incorporate it into the Auction League next year?

As for Uncle O, Aren't we all a younger, hipper, better looking version of him?

faab was a lot of hard work on espn fantasy football

traditional method for me, you pick someone up, you go to the back of the queue

I'd like to put to bed forever the canard that I am some old duffer; I'm typing this in my crushed velvet loon pants (ask your parents) tie-dyed T shirt (same) and floppy brimmed purple hippy hat, while listening to 'Anthem of the Sun' by the Grateful Dead (ask your grandparents)

It does not GET and any more fashionable than that.

In terms of FAAB, I think GV may be right; try in the Vets and see how it goes - but people have to make an effort to research it before the league starts: it's no good trying it 'live' and then moaning because we can't understand it.

It's a bit like television review - it may be a difficult, even unpopular step, but I think it's the way forward and will enhance the league(s) in the future.

Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs.
Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes.
Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers' tears.
What is it else? a madness most discreet,
A choking gall and a preserving sweet.

I'll close the Auction league on Friday, so the final numbers will be set two days before the draft.

At present, there are 14 confirmed managers in the league.

When editing the pre drft prices  Do the auction prices change depending on the number of players?.
for example puyols is currently displayed at 57 dollars , if more enter will his price displyed be reduced?
or are they optimised for a 10 player league?

If they are dose anyone know the formula for adjusting prices for a 16 or 17 player leage?

Lippy, here is the link to a sixteen team (the number in our auction league) cheat sheet with dollar values ...

http://games-ak.espn.go.com/s/flbdraftkit/11/mlbdk2k11mixed.pdf?addata=2011=flbdft_cht_sht_mixed_xxx

This may be of interest too ...

Each team whose owner is not present will be considered on "Autobid" and the system will actively draft for them.

The Autobid system will bid up to a randomly determined % of the player's pre-set value. The bidding range for this is 60% to 110% of the set/default value. This means if Hanley Ramirez's preset draft value is $40 the autopilot system could bid up to $44, or only just to $24. This feature was built into to allow for bargains to still be obtained in a draft with absent owners, yet still field each one a competitive team.

Thx for that , very useful indeed .

Thats a worry about the auto bid , does that include players whose value i change ? Surely the computer should bid up to what i request it to

That link you gave me is for a ten team league .  Which judging by the prices means the prices given in our league have been automatically adjusted upwards to account for all the extra money that will be bid

I know the logo in the top right is a bit misleading, but it's the cheat sheet for ...

'Deep Mixed Cheat Sheet
This cheat sheet has enough players listed at every position to easily get you through a 16-team mixed-league draft, organized by position.'

I'll send you a bundle of specialist cheat sheets too. Check your email.
