Let's get talking about the game of the weekend.
Rodgers and his highly talented team head to Philly to face the big story of the season (Vick).
This Is an interesting matchup because both teams are both capable of brilliance whilst also culpable to mistakes.
I have a feeling that packers tough end of season schedule and lack of running game will be their undoing but their D is so good you can't write them off.
Is Vick back to full fitness, if so he is going to be a hard force to stop in the playoffs!
Either way, can't wait!
Thoughts?

One thing that doesn't bother me is the Packers end of season schedule,( Vick's scrambling ability gives me nightmares though )........i like a team that's battle hardened as they ride into the play-offs and the Pack have been in play-off mode for the last two weeks.

Big word for me is momentum, they may have played back ups against Dallas but they were woeful against Vikes before that and to finish the seson 0-2 (would have been 0-3 but for the Meadowlands miracle) sends them into the wildcard up aginst it IMO.
Pckers defence is decent, very underated IM, Woodson has been outstanding at corner for Packers.
I think they came close to choking last week which worries me as a Packers backer but I just love Rodgers and his receivers and against the Eagles secondary I think they'll get some success. Eagles numbers have been inflated with the number of picks they've had often when teams are chasing games.
Packers run defence has had holes this year but they've suffered injuries and are now getting healthy, whilst I expect Vick will makes some plays I'm taking the Packers to win this.
Weather alert though, high winds in Philly forecast for the game

Think the Eagle's ' Had their Moment of Glory ' in the Giant's game.

Packer's should take this one / But, the REAL PACKER'S have to turn Up.

would have thought high winds would strongly favour philly...

If Reid utilizes McCoy enough, the eagles can win.  If not, forget about it, packers all the way.

Lots of points expected in this one.....Eagles cant stop teams scoring, vick will kill the packers with his legs and our secondary will get battered....battle of the 2 best screen teams in the league. should be a classic...anything beats seattle v saints Sad

Trying not to be too bullish about the Packers but;

Vick has been terrible last few weeks bar the final 8 minutes against the Giants (defensive got film on him in this system now)
Andy Reid is a great coach but he just doesn't run the ball enough, didn't do it when Westbrook was in his prime
Eagles D is battered and playing very poorly, they let Joe Webb open them up ffs

Green bay @ Philadelphia looks like a shootout.Packers Offence has to exploit Eagles through the air and Philadelphia has to run at Green Bay. I think it will be close and reasonably high scoring. The dilemma is can Green Bay play has well away from home, and will they have learned lessons from last years wild card loss in Arizona. Whereas, Philadelphia have been missfiring for a while, can they execute the crucial plays. A bit of a coin flip but 1-6 winning margin looks safest bet either way but with preference for Eagles cos they have the x factor in vick and desean jackson and are at home. Rodgers needs to have a big game for Green Bay to win.

Rodgers is a better qb than vick and i expect him to show it tomorrow. I personally dont think the Eagles have been playing well for a number of weeks now and i'm disregarding that giants meltdown.
Capers will scheme up some nice blitzes for vick to deal with whereas i dont see the same quality in the eagles defence which has lost some key players.

Surely the saints last year showed us that momentum doesn't mean anything going into the playoffs. Vick is fully rested and could do damage. I think the packers run offense will be their undoing at some point. you can't win a superbowl unless you can run IMO.
Report middles-for-dough January 8, 2011 4:03 PM GMT
not winning a superbowl mate.. just playing the eagles

Packers arent alone, other teams have made it to the playoffs without any semblance of a running game,Colts,Saints,Seahawks,Patriots.
Of those 4 ,three of them have an elite qb,rodgers is also an elite qb and they've proved you dont need a running game to win a superbowl.

Expect big games from Raji and Matthews to get at Vick
