Irish place/ Place in the Sky.

Serious insult of price, surely wont last.

Kansas City Chiefs have had a ridiculously soft schedule, they have not beaten a play off team.

Matt Cassel is a weak armed QB, he will not be able to expose the secondary weakness of the Ravens, especially with T-Sizzle flying off the edge.

John Harbaugh and Cam Cameron have not been calling a huge amount of running plays the last few weeks to keep Ray Rice and friends fresh for the play offs, the Chiefs will struggle to conatin the Ravens running game.

Joe Flacco already has 3 play off wins under his belt, this is a team use to winning play off matches. The Chiefs are not.

This is a sexual price, get on. Cool

I'm just hopin to see a tie or two in the playoffs to see how the new overtime rule pans out
Report horse9 January 4, 2011 7:19 PM GMT
I've never been Cassels biggest fan but I wouldn't say he has a soft arm.
Chiefs will run and run and run against Baltimore who are #15 (I think) ranked against the run, I will expect Jones and more so Jamaal to get some success here.
Where Ravens can win the game is through the air, but don't forget Berry and Flowers have been massive for Chiefs this year, predictably overlooked for Pro Bowl but that's only because Chiefs are an unfashionable team and the biased public vote ensure every Pats/Cowboy possible makes Hawaii.
I have this as a close to pick em game, with the Ravens maybe 1, 1.5 point favs.
What goes in your favour is that when the Chiefs are bad they stink the place out, when the Ravens play bad they're still pretty good
Report the nugget January 4, 2011 8:04 PM GMT
Cassel is a decent QB when you give him a running game and YAC players, but his arm is probably the weakest out of the starting QBs in the league imho.
Report the nugget January 4, 2011 8:15 PM GMT
Just checked, the Ravens are 5th against the rush, conceding on average 93.9 yards per game.

The ravens secondary has become stronger since reed has got more games...leads nfl in picks now...webb at corner is having a very good season....off subject, just took a look at the season ending leaders, you would be gutted if you backed manning for most yards, lost by 10 Grin

chiefs 2 win 4 me [;)]
Report horse9 January 4, 2011 10:11 PM GMT
Apologies Nugget, not sure where I got #15 from.
Don't get me wrong I think the Ravens are worthy favs and are a stronger all round unit, but Arrowhead is no picnic and Ravens have show a flaw this year in giving up big plays and points to lesser sides (Bills and Texans sprng to mind), but they are entering the play offs with momentum, whether 1.71 is value I'm not sure

whats the new  ot rule ?

i fancied arrowhead to be the deciding factor, but kc have slipped down lots in the home field adv ratings. i agree with the -1.5 bal spread, certainly closer than the op has it.

Well ive got tbh, im gonna sit back and just enjoy my chiefs in the playoffs.
Id rather have faced the jets than the ravens, i feel we will come up a little short.
We surely cannot play any worse than waht we did against oakland on sunday as if we do then we are in deep trouble.

The one bet id take is overs.
Report skyblues January 4, 2011 11:02 PM GMT
ill put down my lack off posting anymore to the mess off a write up i just put.
Simple terms
overs
beers to enjoy the game.
chiefs to surprise everyone by letting cassel throw more
ravens prob win with fg as time expires.
gl all.

Horse9 its great to be looking forward to something in the post season for a change isnt it.

The ravens have been playing that well recently have they. Winning but not convincingly. I think that this will be tight but expect flaccos recent playoff exeperience up help the ravens scrape through. The chiefs running game can give anyone a headache though.

Haven't been playing that well

Dave, the new OT rule is as follows (it only applies to the playoffs).

"NFL owners on Tuesday voted to approve a change in the overtime format in the playoffs, preventing a team from winning a game with a field goal on the opening possession.
The contest would still end with a touchdown by either team on the opening possession. But if the team that receives the overtime kickoff caps its first drive with a field goal, it must kick off to its opponent.
The opponent would then win the contest with a touchdown or tie it with a field goal. If both teams kick field goals, play would continue under the current sudden-death rules."
Report SteelCurtain January 5, 2011 7:38 PM GMT
what happens if the team with first possession kick a field goal & there opponents fail 2 score on there first possession is the game over is that right ???
Report horse9 January 5, 2011 7:40 PM GMT
sky - sure is, though having backed Ravens ante post it'll be a bit of a mental roller coaster watching the game !
I've been through it already with an AP bet on Chargers, those last weeks of the season were torture and ecstacy all in one, but after the last few years it's great to be competetive, I still say we'll be one and done this year, but next year we are huge runners

I think we have the basis for a decent team, with the young players all coming on recently, and derick j starting to play like we hoped he would when we drafted him we will definatly be much improved.
I know you can only beat who is infront off you, but the soft scedhule still makes me a bit skeptical about where we are in terms off quality.
Gl and lets hope we are both wrong and somehow shock the nfl world with a deep run in the playoffs.

Steelcurtain yes that is correct. Also if the team who have the ball 1st fumble or get intercepted and the other team score a fg thats game over aswell, as both teams will have had a possesion.

also if the 1st team punt and recover a fumble or interception and kick a fg thats game over also.
Hope that kind off makes sense.
Report horse9 January 5, 2011 8:52 PM GMT
Yeah looking forward to the new OT rules, though I can't help thinking that the Packers/Cards wild card game last season ould still have ended up in a tie - every possessionended up in a TD !

sky - I'm not so much worried about the soft schedule, I'm more concerned with our tendancy of not showing up as we did @ Denver @ San Diego and the week 17 game v Raiders.
If the running game gets shut down I'm not convinced our plan B works
Report skyblues January 5, 2011 9:04 PM GMT
Yeah im not sure if we have a plan b but i do know this we better hope its just an illness for bowe and waters and they will be fine for sunday, else we are in big trouble.
Mccluster could be a big player for us sunday.
Report SteelCurtain January 5, 2011 9:24 PM GMT
thanks skyblues makes sense now, 6/4 the chiefs 2 win is that not a good bet, i think it is any1 else on the chiefs 2 win ?

My massive bet of £150 with the Irish firm has nailed the price in from 1.71 to 1.65 Laugh
Report SteelCurtain January 5, 2011 10:02 PM GMT
price crashing as we speak Laugh
Report horse9 January 5, 2011 10:14 PM GMT
The price bomb is probably reaction to Bowe and Waters missing practice with illness, then Haley signing FA WR Kevin Curtis, without Bowe we have no wideout threat and we'll have a complete one dimensional run threat with nothing else. If Bowe is out then 1.71 is value, infact the 1.65 is probably still value
Report SteelCurtain January 5, 2011 10:24 PM GMT
now is not the time get down on your team horse am i the only 1 on here who thinks they can win ?
Report horse9 January 5, 2011 11:06 PM GMT
If there's one thing I've learned in my punting life it's bet with your head, not your heart, and I am by nature a realist.
Moeki offers some air threat apart from that it's the screen, and if the screen and running game are your only threats the D will shut you down pretty quickly.
The fact Haley signed Curtis who got bombed out of Miami a few weeks back is a pnaic move and tells me Bowe's illness is likely to keep him out on the Ravens game.
So I'll be pressing on Ravens I think
Report The Prophet Of Profit January 6, 2011 2:33 AM GMT
You have to love a home dog in the playoffs, but in this case ill pass.  Ravens should handle business if they give the ball to Rice enough.  Pickasauras Rex Ed Reed to do his thang too.
Report SteelCurtain January 6, 2011 4:20 PM GMT
ravens are a great team but i just 6/4 about a team at home might be the value time will tell just think it could be a close game.
Report horse9 January 6, 2011 8:14 PM GMT
1.61 - can only assume Bowe is out.
Hope you climbed on at 1.71

I think the chiefs could win, but i wont be betting it, i prefer the overs aslong as bowe plays which seems likely now.
Waters would be a big loss thou so hopefully he gets back aswell.

Chiefs need to put this sickness to bed as quinton lawerance has come down with it aswell now, last think they need is an outbreak that totally ruins thier chances.
