Thinking of a trip next year to see my fav team play in New york. is it easy to get to the meadowlands from manhattan and are tickets possible to come by?

Celtic - I've done Meadowlands a number of times (old stadium admittedly, though the new one was built 20 feet from the old one !), it used to be a breeze getting there with buses running from the port authority in Manhattan taking no more than 10 mins to the stadium.
They built a new railway station as part of the new Meadowlands project only when I last went (Dec 09) there was no direct service to/from the city, you had to change at some godforsaken industrial site and the journey took over an hour to get there, and as it was the SNF match up with the Eagles (you may remember the shootout 45-38 or thereabouts) the game finished at midnight and public transport ain't at it's bets ! I have heard whispers that direct trains now run. Forget cabs, you might get one to take you there but there's no hope of getting one back. There is a bus stop on the freeway about 400 yards from the stadium, if that's your plan then print off a map as it's easy to get lost. So in summary, it used to be a piece of p#ss, but they then made it spectacularly hard. GL |

Forgot to say re tickets, got to NFL.com and use the ticket exchange, they're online bar coded tickets so al automatic. I spent years buying through UK agents and spending a fortune for average seats, ticket exchange tells you the pretty much exactly where your seat is (before you buy) so look at the stadium plan and work out where you wanna be.
You pay over the odds bu not remortgage over the odds, a flat $80 ticket for an inter division game will cost maybe £100, if you want proper seats there'll cost maybe £250 |

Chiefs fan mate.
Done Arrowhead quite a few times, only other stadiums are Meadowlands, Candlestick and the old Dallas stadium. Me and the missus do New York every Dec so done Meadowlands plenty, I actually prefer parking up in a bar watching wall to wall football 1pm to midnight drinking Bud and eating hotwings, heaven ! Plan next year is to train it up to Foxboro for a game, Lambeau is high on the list too. How bout you, been over there ? |

superbowl XLV111 is been held at the meadowlands horse something for you to look forward to, been to NY a few times but never the meadowlands sounds fun.

Yeah I always said I'd do a superbowl one day, I was kind of hoping for a CA stadium and have a week on the beach, NY in early Feb not what I had in mind but one thing you can be sure of about NY is they will make superbowl week special.
I think it's New Orleans that gets it in 2013, that could be a bit special. Anyone here done one ? |

indianaplis next year then new orleans like u said, never done a superbowl wanted 2 do superbowl XL111 in tampa but couldnt get a ticket wish a had gone 4 the crac now, its on my list of ten things 2 do be i die.
