heya guys and girls.

first off yes im a giants fan. so this may be a bit bias but ill keep it to a minimum.

giants road to the playoffs is simple. giants need to beat the redskins and the packers need to loose to chicago. This little extract is taken from the giants website.

"First, and probably most crucial, the Chicago Bears vs. the Green Bay Packers. Some believe that the Bears have nothing to play for since they have already clinched a playoff spot. That is NOT the case. Last night's Philadelphia Eagles loss elevated the Bears' playoff status to the #2 seed. So, why not just sit all the starters out on Sunday and look to the playoffs?"

this above passage is what i was thinking myself, that chicago had nothing to play for. how wrong i am :D

next: "One, because they still have a chance at winning the #1 seed with a win on Sunday and an Atlanta Falcons loss. That's a very slim possibility as Atlanta face the Panthers, who are the worst team in the NFL, and are not likely to lose that game. The rivalry between the Bears and Packers is epic. The Pack have always given the Bears a run for their money. The Bears lead the series 91-82-6. If there is one team that Chicago does not want to face in the playoffs, it's Green Bay. This week is the Bears' chance to knock out their nemesis from the playoff race."

and chicago coach sayys : "Head coach Lovie Smith said, "I think naturally you could let up a little bit if you weren't playing for anything. I am talking about if you had home field wrapped up or if there was nothing you could gain from that last game. I guess some teams could let that hold them back a little bit. But for us, there is just so much going on this week. For us, it just seems like we have to play our best ball this week in Game 16. Number one, I mean, it's the Packers and the Bears. That in itself really makes you play your best ball." If you don't think that ChiTown will have all of their starters in this one for 60 minutes to play against their biggest division rival, think again! "

So for my fellow punters the chicago greenbay game would be one game to avoid from a betting perspective. how could you bet on it when you dont know what  bears team is going to surface?

and

to my fellow giants fans. cheer on the bears. keep the faith however had it may be after the last two weeks. we are still in this.

If saints and the bears win....it would go to best conference record...saints would win it

What would go to best conf record? Saints already have the 5 seed minimum locked up. Giants win and Bears win, Giants get seed 6, simple.

Yes i know if the giants win and the packers lose giants get 6....What im talking about is who would get 1 seed....Jeany is talking about chicago playing a full strength team in greenbay,he says they can get 1seed if atlanta lose, what he didnt mention was that is only possible if saints lose also...if atlanta lose, chicago win and saints win, saints win division and become 1seed due to the better conference record which would be 10-2 compared to the bears 9-3 Cool  Also the bears will no their fate before kick off as atlanta and the saints are the early kick off... Cool

if the bears somehow beat the pack which is somewhat unlikely imo, then without doubt the giants will find a way to blow it against the skins, they can find a way to lose when no one else would find it possible re eagles game ffs. yes i am a giants fan, sometimes i think it would be better to be a lions fan

Agree Barking, I'm with the Skins this week.
Never thought I'd ever back a team with Grossman starting again but I make the Giants done, demorilised.
Heartbreaking loss to the Eagles followed by last weeks anhialiation by the Pack, I'm not sure they can pick themselves up after the last 2 weeks.
Skins with a 5 point start is a gift from above, Skins outright as well.

Giants fan here, im expecting no miracles tbh

giants have blown their chances in eagles game (when coasting) and packers (in not turning up)

we dont deserve to be there, we've had two massive games and sunk faster than the titanic when it got cruicle

fair play to packers they showed more desire last week than my own giants

Just because the Bears may not have anything to play for Sunday in Green Bay doesn’t mean that they’ll take their foot off the gas pedal and coast over the Wisconsin state line and into Lambeau Field.

“For us, we’re playing to win the football game,” said coach Lovie Smith. “We want to continue to grow, continue to improve the way we’ve been doing here lately. Besides that, we have a chance to sweep the division. That’s important for us. We want to go into the playoffs on a high as much as anything."

With the Bears clinching at least the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs by virtue of Minnesota’s upset win over Philadelphia Tuesday night, they won’t open the post-season until Jan. 15 or 16. That’s another reason Smith wants to play his starters in Green Bay.

“We know that we have a little bit of time next week and know there will be a couple weeks before we play,” he said. “That’s why it’s important to get some good work in [against] good competition this week. We want to keep it going.

"We don’t want to take a step back. We want to continue. Even though we’ve played our best football here as of late, you can’t say that we’ve peaked yet and there are still some areas that we have to improve on.”

jeany dont believe everything that comes from a coaches mouth...they will have nothing to play for and could end up losing players through injury...packers would rip this lot apart if chicago were needing a win to make the playoffs,

There is also talk that Chicago will play this game to win as all coaches would say but the coach love smith has not ruled out benching players when asked the question.

You have to remember though Harry that bears packers is the oldest rivalry in football. I don't think the fans would accept a blowout even with playoff chances. This Is the bears. They are a proud bunch!

There is no way that the Bears will react to what happens in the 2 earlies. The team is picked now regardless of the results in those games.

It's also a great chance for the bears to knock out the packers. I think the packers will win but because they are better not because they play easy.
