This could end up being more interesting than an NFL blowout - I believe I've read 50,000 tickets already sold given the two teams (larage naval base in San Diego).

Like the Aztecs here however, and 4/6 seems decent to me. 4 losses against decent teams (esp TCU) and all by close margains, while putting everyone else away. Navy did beat Notre Dame, but their own schedule hardly inspiring. One-dimensional offence could be an issue as well, SDSU well balanced in all elements of the game.

I think 4/6 is a fair price for SDSU.

Navy are my favourite NCAA team, I watch them whenever possible and I'd have to agree that their schedule has been pretty weak this year. Although Notre Dame is a prize scalp, a win against them isn't quite as impressive as it would have been years ago.

One thing I will say about Navy's offense is that it maybe one-dimensional but they get a lot out of that one-dimesion. They've run the same triple option offense for a number of years and still rack up the yards on the ground regardless... 200yds from the FB dive against Notre Dame, it's not like anything the Mids run is secret, it's just well executed.

I've noticed that SDSU has had trouble against other top rushing attacks like TCU & Air Force. If Navy can complete a few early passes like they did against Army and make SDSU respect their passing game then they've got a chance of doing some serious damage with the option.

I reckon a shootout with SDSU taking it.

I fancied some of the over 60.5 offered at 2.16 earlier today, but read that the pitch had been under several inches of water due to torrential rain in the San Diego area. That will probably make most aspects of offense a lot trickier so I'll probably just enjoy the football without a bet.

I think

good. should be much better than watching pitt win 17-3

Field was totally flooded, but the water has been pumped away. Even so, one can only imagine the field will churn up and that this game will become a mudfest.

Both coaches have emphasised the running game and so betting under 60.5 points looks gilt-edged.

College football being what it is, this could prove an expensive play, but the unders are hard to resist.

Navy and San Diego State may have to contend with slippery turf Thursday night when they play in the Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium, where 1.5 million gallons of storm water had to be pumped out because of the recent rain.

The natural turf playing field, which had been deluged with water and mud, appears to be in good shape, with a freshly spray-painted San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl logo, said Poinsettia Bowl executive director Bruce Binkowski.

The good news is that no more rain is expected during the game, which could come down to which team is able to adjust to the condition of the playing surface. Both teams rely on speed to overcome their opponents — the Midshipmen on the ground and the Aztecs via the air.

I think the condition of the pitch will keep the scoring down so i am having a double with the Pittsburg match tonight where i think the Overs will be covered by a few points to spare.

My Bet tonight...

Total points

Navy San Diego State Under 58.5
Carolina v Pitsburg Over 37.5

£15 pays  £54.67

Good Luck Everyone!!

was going to play the dog, but this muddy field makes it all a bit problematic. you'd think it's more likely to adversely affect the run game, hence give sd he edge?

Anyone watching??? Cracking game.

Navy finally got the option going after a bad start and have also managed to slow the SDSU "O" down after nearly being blown of the pitch 1st quarter
