Apologies for asking a question which basketball fans will no doubt find ridiculous, but can a player be ejected to leave the tema down to 4 onfield players or are they always allowed to use a substitute.  Which fouls can result in this happening?  Thanks in advance

6 fouls of any kind. You can also be ejected for doing something violent, or having a right go at the referees without having 6 fouls. NBA teams can substitute at any time, and have enough players on the bench to make it virtually impossible to run out of players. Once a player reaches six fouls, he just sits down and someone else comes in.

It would be a little unfair in a five-man team to reduce a team to four players.   Laugh   It's not like football, it would turn the game into a complete farce.

They could have a powerplay though, like in NHL

They could, but why change something that works well and that no one is complaining about?
