Can't think of one - it was great though - I couldn't believe he'd missed it! Everything went right in the 4th

I've shanked a few like that off the tee.

I once played at a very nice country club in the US and got a little carried away in the pro shop. It was a bit like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack - I didn't quite go for the naked lady tees, but I did buy an incredibly expensive driver that had a head on it nearly as big as my own inflated noggin.

I arrived on the first tee kitted out like the world's number one golfing pimp and proudly revealed the new driver (I was playing with some very important clients). A couple of extravagant practise swings and I teed it up nice and high and stepped up to smash the cover off the ball. Halfway down the backswing I had completely lost control of the clubhead and the resultant shank not only sounded like a gun going off, it was so bad it nearly brained a member of the next group waiting by the first. It shot past them into the long, marshy grass by the tee - lost ball, no doubt.

"New club" I blushingly mumbled to my grinning golf partners as I teed it up again, "I'll hit a provisional". This time I thought I'd just take a three quarters swing in an attempt to control the wrecking ball headed beast, and I remembered Ben Hogan's famous old adage 'Relax, don't grip the club too hard'. This time I mixed it up with a complete airshot, and the top heavy club flew out of my hands and arced gently, albeit impressively, into the lake on the other side of the tee.

I walked that hole, followed by my colleagues in the buggy and the echoing guffaws of the following group. Another triumph.

This is the worst extra point miss in NFL history (given the manner in which it happened)
