Does anyone else think this game will be closer than the odds suggest?

Yeah i'm thinking it might be a tight lowish scoring game(which is dangerous to assume when the Saints are playing),but i cant see the 49ers scoring much
so i'm backing UNDER 19.5 49ers total points. |

Playing it safe and just backing Saints S/U. I am struggling to think of a reason why San Fran would win.

Yeah, I think it'll be a close one. Not many teams roll the 49ers over at home by any kind of margins and they should be fired up after last weeks shambles. Still think the Saints will have too much for them but if you're trading I can't see the 1.45 about the Saints being a train to 1.01.

cant watch it and im not too bothered about it, wouldnt want to back either team at the prices. 49ers probably just about the value, but not all that appealing

Not exactly sure what the Saints beat in the Vikings last week. San Fran were awful, but they will respond I think. They certainly have decent enough personnel

If Patrick Willis was playing i would be more towards thinking the 49'ers may have a slight chance but without him i cant see the 49'ers stopping Brees and co, last thursday Brees hit 9 receivers in one game- the 49'ers defence couldnt handle the shithawks last sunday so no chance they will handle a much much better offence in the saints tonight, big bet for me on saints money lines

San Francisco are usually overrated and at these odds it makes me think the New Orleans price, particularly considering both of these teams performances in Week One, is big. But it's not impossible to envisage the win for an SF side which has been touted, yet again, as one that will have an excellent NFL season.
Take a look at the matches New Orleans have played on the road since 2006 in which they were favourites - 2007 TB Buccaneers 31-14 2007 SF 49ers 10-31 2007 Car Panthers 6-31 2007 Atl Falcons 14-34 2007 Chi Bears 33-25 2008 KC Chiefs 20-30 2008 Det Lions 7-42 2009 Phi Eagles 22-48 2009 Miami Dolphins 34-46 2009 Stl Rams 23-28 2009 TB Buccaneers 7-38 2009 Was Redskns 30-33 That's 12 games in which they scored more than 23.5 points and one in which they didn't. A word of caution though, in the 16 games during that period in which SF were at home as non-favourites, they prevented their opponents from scoring 23.5 points in 9 out of 16 matches. However, of those, 5 were home wins and the others were against much poorer sides than New Orleans. My suggested bet would therefore be New Orleans to score more than 23.5 points at 1.73 with a safeguard bet on the SF win at 3s. |

a funny weekend for bus...got away with murder on Houston -3 and had a decent whack on Indy -4 but have thrown away bits and pieces for no reason in between...am relying on New Orleans here to make it a goodish weekend
