Well being a chiefs fan i actually think we will cover this game. For the 1st time in a few season im optomistic we will surprise some people this season, with jamal charles future star and d-bowe seeming to have a good camp i belive we will be able to put some points on the board.
Cant see us winning the match but i dont think it will be a blow out thats for sure.

Funny, I too am a Chiefs fan and I can't see anything other than a double digit Chargers win.
Yes we have a strong running game and Bowe (if his head is right) could be a pro bowler, but there are still holes on the O-line, the D-line doesn't get enough pressure on the QB, and our secondary is still weak.
I rate Rivers (not as a man) highly and think he will have too many weapons for the Chiefs

hows everyone. I am kind of new to betting on the NFL but i am aware that under Norv Turner the chargers are known for being slow starters to a new season. Having looked into it in 2007 they started 1 and 3 before then going 10 and 2 for the remaining 12 games of the season. in 2008 they started 3 and 5 before finishing it 5 and 3 (8 and 8 overall!!) and last season they started poorly once more losing 3 of their first 5 games before going on an eleven match winning streak.

Having said that they stuffed the chiefs twice last season 37-7 in arrowhead and by a very similar margin of 43-14 at home in the Qualcom. So sod the slow start theory i have to be with Rivers and the chargers to hammer them :-)

i fancy San Diego to win by double figures too...it would be nice if it does

1 12/09/2010 IND Colts @ HOU Texans
(Point Spread) HOU Texans +3.0 20/23 None Won
2 12/09/2010 CIN Bengals @ NE Patriots
(Point Spread) NE Patriots -6.0 10/11 None Won
3 10/09/2010 MIN Vikings @ NO Saints
(Point Spread) NO Saints -4.0 10/11 None Won
4 14/09/2010 SD Chargers @ KC Chiefs
(Point Spread) SD Chargers -6.0 10/11 None To Run
5 12/09/2010 OAK Raiders @ TEN Titans
(Point Spread) TEN Titans -7.0 10/11 None Won

£5 acca and £5 fourfolds placed at a very drunk time off 14/07/2010 03:24:59 - two months ago plus my beloved Houston started well and got very nice prices

They've had some tough early season match ups to be fair, last year I remember they played the Ravens and Steelers early, the year before they got done by the Broncs in the infamous Hochuli rule change.
Even allowing for the lunatic Arrowhead faithful doing everything they can to put off visiting teams, I still fancy the Chargers to come away with the win.
Could be some points as well, 31-21 ish

If you want a reason not to back the Chargers .... McNeill is holding out leaving Rivers' blind side in the hands of Dombrowski (me neither!). Gates won't stay in to protect whilst the rookie Matthews' blocking may not be up to scratch. If the Chiefs come after Rivers it could be interesting

i agree horse with the defence, we need to hope berry can be our saviour, i think the o-line will be fine for the running its the pass protection that worrys me, cassel could be scrambling about. i actually think the chiefs will try to bring alot of pressure tonight from what ive read in pre season they held out alot on purpose, but we shall see.
If i bet id take overs as i feel both teams will do ok moving the ball.
Rivers is a beast imo but as stated the chargers dont start to well and im hoping with the long flight and time zone diffrence they may be slow out of the blocks again tonight. Arrowhead should be rocking (well until about 30secs in before a pick)

skyblues you have more faith than me in the O-line - I think they'll create some running lanes for Jamaal and Jones to break through, but I also think our D won't be able to contain Rivers and we'll be chasing the game quite early forcing the biggest overrated QB in football through the air, and because he's the biggest overrated QB in football he needs 1-2 secs in the pocket more than proper QB's which is why he get dumped on his backside so many times.
I agree with the overs, line has been creeping up today, freds are 44.5 10/11 which is an over play for me.
Good luck

kansas are gash and cassel prob isnt good enough is he?

Cassel was fine behind the Pats line in fairness.

Chiefs for me in this one. 2nd best home advantage in the league, we've already seen how it went at the best one and it takes a giant leap of faith to overcome the chargers 11.1 pythag wins last year and believe that they've been underrated!!!

have some other reasons too, but they're posted elsewhere (and that's not spam as i won't answer where if you ask.)

Firstly they scored a TD with a run from over 50 yards out.KC dominated special teams. They produced a team record punt return of over 90 yards for a TD. Rivers and his team didn't handle the torrential rain from the second quarter onwards at all well and they were out of sync with each other nearly the whole match. Still had a chance to tie with first and goal inside the last 2 minutes but obviously failed.

SD were definitely out of sync..as per usual at start of the season . Once KC figured out how to nulify Gates (mostly double teaming him and bashing into him at the line) SD couldn't get much going. And like Lance said, the rain didn't seem to help.
The rookies on KC's D, and in fact the whole unit, really stepped up.
SD looked pretty ordinary for the most part but could have still evened it up at the end. They look like they really miss Jackson and McNeill
