Anybody else watching? Good game, interesting clues for the new season. H/T 17-3 Broncos.
On what I`ve seen first half, Steelers will struggle offensively first 4 games without Big Ben. Defense looks good once again though and Polo will be back.

Tim Tebow, Broncos 1st round draft pick, in the game now. Nice first completion for 12yds, then misses a wide open Eddie Royal next throw!

Leftwich, former Marshall q/b, in for Steelers now. Replaces Dennis Dixon. Boy, that guy can scramble, something Leftwich and Ben can`t do so well, but not so sure about his throwing ability. 9-16 for 94yds and 2 interceptions, one returned for 75yds for a Denver TD. Leftwich goes 3 and out on his first series.

Impressive drive by Tebow. Let down by receiver. FG makes it 20-3 Denver.

Leftwich taking Steelers wrong way! 2nd and 17, 3rd and 28 and Punt. 4th Qt - still 20-3 Denver.

Terrible error throw by Tebow. Steelers interception returned to Denver 5yd line.
By:
TD Steelers. Maguire (Rookie) 5yd run. 20-10 Denver.

Tebow makes amends. Looked quite impressive there. 75yd drive for a TD. 27-10 Broncos.

Charlie Batch in at QB for Steelers. Oh Dear!
By:
lol, Batch takes Steelers on a 95yd drive for a TD. Mind you, 45yd run by Jonathan Dwyer (Rookie)and a 15yd "roughing the passer" penalty helped. Still, fair play to old Charlie, a couple of nice throws including a TD pass. 27-17 Denver.

Trouble for Denver. Brady Quinn in at QB. 6min left.
By:
Quinn sacked again, he`s good at that. Denver punt.
By:
Great throw by Batch under sever pressure. Hats of to old charlie.

OOPS - spoke to soon. Batch intercepted, Denver return it for a TD. Now that`s the Charlie Batch I know. 34-17 Denver. Surely, I can count the money now!
Mind you, after Martin Laird three putting from 20ft at the golf to cost me loads, one never knows. But if I don`t win this one I`ll quit betting! |

Great return by Thompson for Denver, 63yds to Steelers 11yd line. This guy looks a player, already returned an int. for a TD.

Game Over. 34-17 Denver.
Conclusion? Steelers could struggle early offensively with Ben suspended for at least 4 games. Dixon must get the starters job week 1 despite throwing two interceptions. Pittsburgh will have to rely on their mighty defence. Denver will prove tough to beat at home and will win their fair share of games. Orton looks steady at the helm and Tebow looks a player for the future. Thompson (Rookie) impressed in defense and returns. |
