OK last year i set my draft ranking and left it to autopick which i was told was a stupid thing to do.
This year I am deffo going to sit down with a pot of tea, a packet of hob nobs and do the draft.
I have done a couple of mock drafts and been happy enough with the outcome, but what do you think are the few things i should do to ensure a reasonable return on the draft?
Should I go all out to get 4 stud RBs and 2 crack QBs?
What sort of strategies do fellow fantasy boys use?
Many people believe you just draft the best player on the board; others that you use Tiers, dynamic values, or ADP and look for value. Some spread their Bye weeks, others say concentrate your Byes and throw a week. If I was to give you one tip that is a bit left field (and it is ACCEPTED FACT that I am the best Fantasy NFL player on BF and possibly in the world) it would be to get a pen and paper and chart the other managers' rosters as you go through the draft. Compare that to position scarcity and decide accordingly.
And always, ALWAYS, have a strategy.
Lo, Uncle O has spoken

An endless topic, tbh. Many people believe you just draft the best player on the board; others that you use Tiers, dynamic values, or ADP and look for value. Some spread their Bye weeks, others say concentrate your Byes and throw a week. If I was to g
When i first started fantasy i bought into the whole, take 2 rb's with your 1st 2 picks. As time has gone on through drafts i now dont go on that stratergy and play more to the best players on the board. I also feel there is alot more rb's avalible nowadays that get carries to a long time ago.

Once the elite tier of RB's has gone (CJ, AP, Rice, Gore and I suppose MJD [i'm missing a couple of others I know]) then there's no point spending your first round pick on Ronnie Brown when Reggie Wayne or Peyton Manning is on the board.
There's a lottttttt of RB's at the 2nd tier who can pick you up a lot of points, much like QB's.

The way I was planning on doing it was handwriting 20 players I really want and seeing how much luck i get
I would obviously have the key rushers at the top but i have 3 or 4 what you refer to as 2nd tier rbs that i really wany...like Shonn Green.
One king QB would nearly be enough before concentrating on WRs.
Of course if someone was to end up with 4 great QBs they would then become very valuable trading tools so maybe just maybe go for the best available regardless of position....?
What about Defence and Tight Ends, are these an after thought or should we really go hell for leather to get the Ravens D/ST and Jason Witten....??

defences are definitly an afterthought, very hard to predict who'll do well and you can usually pick up a decent defence based on matchups most weeks. think you can wait on tight ends this year too, I got kellen winslow with the 11th te drafted and am pretty confident with him. have to agree that is good advice but I'm probably better at fantasy football than you if I'm being honest.

I was in a draft last week where some guy took a defense in the 3rd, AND 5th round. He claimed it would be the year of the defense... A weapon if there ever was one.

I used to take D's earlier but almost no point. I will take a D/ST and Kicker with the last 2 picks always, you can often get lucky with a D/ST or if not, just play matchups via the waivers
Not sure 4 QB's is a sensible option as you'll need any RB more than they need a better QB!

Thanks Gazzy your post very helpful I have had a couple of DSTs in the upper reaches of my rankings
Also, I hadnt even thought about taking positions in an order ie leaving the DST and K to the last 2 picks
