The Blue Jays' game against the Tigers on Friday was postponed on account of rain. The clubs will make up the game on Sunday as part of a day-night doubleheader. The rescheduled game will take place at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, while the regular scheduled game will kick off at 1:05 p.m.
Rain clouds rolled into Detroit in the early afternoon, but the wet weather subsided by the early evening. However, high humidity brought in another storm system through Michigan that prevented the Blue Jays from taking batting practice prior to the scheduled game.
Before the game, Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston said he'd keep his scheduled rotation if the game were postponed and push everyone back a day. He was more concerned with starting the game and not being able to finish.
The current trip to Detroit is the only one of the season for the Blue Jays, thus placing an emphasis on getting all three games of the series played this weekend. The Tigers will travel to Toronto for a four game series from Aug. 26-29.
