Yes, I'd agree with that bet. In addition to game by game workload restrictions, Strasburg is almost certainly on a seasonal pitch limit. Given that he's already thrown 55 innings in the minors, it's going to be tough for him to win eight games in the majors.

I also like the 'Under 90.5 pitches' bet for tonight's game. He hasn't exceeded that number in any of his minor league starts and there's also the (somewhat remote) chance that the Pirates shell him. I read somewhere that in his first start for San Diego State he threw eight consecutive balls to start the game, maybe nerves could get to him tonight.

I like that also

Under 5.5 strikeouts at +125 at Pinny and Over is -130 at 5dimes, so almost a no juice decision.

Debuts seem to be dissapointing affairs, I think the unders might be okay there.

3.5+ Pirates?

Yum yum.

Well, I never like losing money and would always rather win than see a great performance.

but if I'm going to be made to look retarded on a bet, that one's as good as it gets, what a great performance from the kid

At least this thread won't get bumped mercilessly like it might on the football forum. Sometimes it's better to lose a bet by a wide margin than by denied at the death, then you can almost laugh at it.

Been good to watch tonight, at least from now on the hype should be taken down a notch.

yeah, fair play, he was awesome

I wouldn't mind an update on the season wins now, there's sure to be some value after that performance

...the hype should be taken down a notch

You're kidding, DC has lost its mind over the kid!

The Post almost has Strasburg knocking Al and Tipper off the front page.

In sports and life, myth most often gives way to the man. But in the case of rookie Stephen Strasburg, the man may prove to surpass the myth to become a franchise savior.

Yikes.
