iI managed to back the Mets at 3 and to be honsest i think the game is priced up completely wrong. I know Halladay is supposed to be 'the best pitcher in baseball' but you have to look at the stats and who is hot. The Mets crushed the Phillies yesterday 9 - 1 and Pelfrey's stats are better than Halladay's. Not to mention that Roy's only loss was in his LAST start. New York are riding a 9 game winning streak(I think) and Philly have lost 4 of their last 5. The only advantage you could say Philly have got is that they are at home, a ballpark they are only 3 - 4 at this season.

Im not trying to say im right, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would need some reasoning to even think that Philly could be favourite.
Pause Switch to Standard View Great value on the Mets vs the Phillies!

No argument, that's a nice bet. My only worries would be; the walks Pelfrey issues (you can't get keep getting away with putting people on) he isn't great against the Phillies ... and it's GOW! The Phils' cold bats had better stay cold and they'd better not feel as though it's time to deliver live on Fox!

I've got it going Under.

Not a bad bet although I'd dispute whether Pelfrey has pitched better than Halladay this season. Pelfrey has benefitted from a low BABIP and his control (as orioles says) hasn't been great. I watched his last start vs Atlanta and he was very lucky to emerge unscathed, a couple of well timed double plays saved him.

some of the threads on this NA forum are incredible this season...think next time someone puts one of these up we'll all have to do completely the opposite of the tips :D

Don't get bitter, Arthur.

It was a decent enough bet, but baseball can be a cruel mistress. At least you're in there pitching and swinging for the fences [insert string of baseball metaphors here].

Above all else, remember that betting the bases is a grind, you'll lose the occasional battle, but you need to win the war and emerge victorious from the mud and the blood [insert string of war metaphors here].

Looks like i jynxed the mets. 10 - 0 lol....

But to the guys who are taking the mick out of it, why don't you say it before you actually see the result? Instead of just acting smart after you see the score...

Pelfrey did indeed get lucky against Atlanta last week,he got no luck last night, the first two hits he gave up last night were extremely fortunate after getting behind the Mets were never going to beat Doc
