Its as bad as Rugby League this year.

There has been a lot of field goals missed this year plus loads of very bad punts in general.

I put a lot of soccers low status in the states down to nfl kickers.

Quick question:

In soccer their are thousands of footballers around the world who are black and can hit a mean football.

Why is their no black place/punt kickers in NFL?

I had to follow most of it on gamecentre...as soon as they stopped giving Benson the ball and put the game in the hands of Mr. Incomplete it was all over. Dumb playcalling.

Love to say i told you so.

Kickers this year have been beyond abysmal. Time to draft some league one keepers NFL.

Rackers been one of the best in the league this year, very consistent, so I was surprised to see him completely bottle it tonight, be interesting to see if his confidence is back next week. Mental strength obviously a huge factor for any kicker and you could see a total meltdown if Rackers missed one early next week.

I have a theory that soccers unpopularity in the states can largely be atributed to nfl kickers. Guys like Bironas aside, how can you have any respect for guys missing chip shots in big games? NFL kickers have a lot to answer for.

Rackers split the uprights from his own 45 after the roughing the passer pen during regular time didn't he ? Not exactly the same with no holder or rush coming but all the same he drilled that straight down the middle from 65 yards or so when under no pressure.

Ace highs early prediction:

A kicker will miss an attempt to win the Superbowl this year. Its well overdue. Scott Norwood last time?

Success rate this year is around 80%. That's the lowest rate since 2003 but ridiculous to suggest it's the lowest rate ever (how about 60% in 1976?). The fact is FG accuracy has been astonishingly high over the last few years and we've finally seen a few kickers have a bad year.

Suisham the poster child for NFL kickers this season.

What was the Cowboys thought process in this mess?

I know...we have a problem with our kicker choking kicks, we'll sign another kicker who chokes kicks. Genius.

Standards have improved massively over the years.

When Mick Luckhurst retired in the 80s he finished with a 73% rate, making him 3rd in the all time percentage list.

By his own admission he'd be axed nowadays for 73%
