Its as bad as Rugby League this year.

There has been a lot of field goals missed this year plus loads of very bad punts in general.
Report Crisp77 January 9, 2010 11:43 PM GMT
Cost the Bengals tonight :-)
Report Ace High January 9, 2010 11:45 PM GMT
I put a lot of soccers low status in the states down to nfl kickers.
Report The Priest January 9, 2010 11:52 PM GMT
Quick question:

In soccer their are thousands of footballers around the world who are black and can hit a mean football.

Why is their no black place/punt kickers in NFL?
Report HARRY22 January 10, 2010 12:12 AM GMT
well ace high...u called the jets match wrong but u did say benson would run all over them
Report Ace High January 10, 2010 12:14 AM GMT
Ill take 50% on my predictions anyday.
Report HARRY22 January 10, 2010 12:15 AM GMT
was a joke of a game...bengals couldnt catch feck alll and the kicker wants fired
Report Ace High January 10, 2010 12:24 AM GMT
I had to follow most of it on gamecentre...as soon as they stopped giving Benson the ball and put the game in the hands of Mr. Incomplete it was all over. Dumb playcalling.
Report HARRY22 January 10, 2010 12:30 AM GMT
From carsons 1st throw it never got any better....useless....the bengals D deserved better
Report honestcl January 10, 2010 1:31 AM GMT
Good point in the first post though. Never thought about it before. Why are there no black kickers??

I'm now officially intrigued

Love to say i told you so.

Kickers this year have been beyond abysmal. Time to draft some league one keepers NFL.
Report easymoney January 11, 2010 12:30 AM GMT
Rackers been one of the best in the league this year, very consistent, so I was surprised to see him completely bottle it tonight, be interesting to see if his confidence is back next week. Mental strength obviously a huge factor for any kicker and you could see a total meltdown if Rackers missed one early next week.
Report casemoney January 11, 2010 12:32 AM GMT
mr automatic Packers, got out of jail .. big time.
Report Ace High January 11, 2010 12:32 AM GMT
I have a theory that soccers unpopularity in the states can largely be atributed to nfl kickers. Guys like Bironas aside, how can you have any respect for guys missing chip shots in big games? NFL kickers have a lot to answer for.
Report Rugbyleaguer January 11, 2010 12:33 AM GMT
All about bottle, dont tell me they miss those in practice
Report easymoney January 11, 2010 12:40 AM GMT
Rackers split the uprights from his own 45 after the roughing the passer pen during regular time didn't he ? Not exactly the same with no holder or rush coming but all the same he drilled that straight down the middle from 65 yards or so when under no pressure.
Report Ace High January 11, 2010 12:42 AM GMT
Pressure - For tyres, cookers, and nfl place kickers.

Ace highs early prediction:

A kicker will miss an attempt to win the Superbowl this year. Its well overdue. Scott Norwood last time?
Report Lori January 11, 2010 10:50 AM GMT
Rackers has previous for this, see the "They are who we thought they were" game
Report darkroom January 11, 2010 11:53 AM GMT
Success rate this year is around 80%. That's the lowest rate since 2003 but ridiculous to suggest it's the lowest rate ever (how about 60% in 1976?). The fact is FG accuracy has been astonishingly high over the last few years and we've finally seen a few kickers have a bad year.
Report Ace High January 17, 2010 7:01 PM GMT
Suisham the poster child for NFL kickers this season.

What was the Cowboys thought process in this mess?

I know...we have a problem with our kicker choking kicks, we'll sign another kicker who chokes kicks. Genius.

Standards have improved massively over the years.

When Mick Luckhurst retired in the 80s he finished with a 73% rate, making him 3rd in the all time percentage list.

By his own admission he'd be axed nowadays for 73%
