joe was great but i think no one understands the game better than manning.calls the shots, changes the plays and very effective at it.

Remember being based in the States in the early to mid 90s and watching College Football....he was as good a QB then....different gear especially at the line when switching plays...

Peyton is the greatest ever imo. However atm it is still slightly arguable, a second super bowl ring will end all arguments
Report HARRY22 January 24, 2010 4:54 PM GMT
superbowl rings shouldnt decide who is the greatest anyway....eli has 1 lol....its not all on the QB
Report Valueee Seeeker January 24, 2010 4:55 PM GMT
I think if Manning picks up more SBs then it will safe to say he is.... until then I think will always be argued.

Joe with 4 is some acheivement!

joe is god....peyton is just a genius as well as a great QB...MR cool at the line

never understood the obsession with superbowl rings. if montana, elway, brady, whoever else you care to mention played for the current detroit lions they wouldnt have a banana between em. roethlisberger has won 2 superbowls and hes nowhere near as good as peyton. for that matter neither is brady, can you imagine how many superbowls hed have won at new england over the years.
Report HARRY22 January 24, 2010 5:05 PM GMT
precisely cunny....granted ben produced in the superbowl but had a very very good D...as i said its not all on the QB...2 sides to the ball game

Whats you guys think is the major deciding factor then re: qualifying to be the greatest?

Anyone care to put a top 5 together?
Report HARRY22 January 24, 2010 5:15 PM GMT
Well as the americans are obsessed with stats its always going to be the way with whos the greatest etc but you cant really argue with joe montana....
Report cunnybobbler January 24, 2010 6:07 PM GMT
its pretty impossible comparing guys from different eras. all i know is manning is comfortably the best qb in the league right now. then brady and brees comfortably ahead of the rest. then its the likes of rivers and roethlisberger. warner would be up there somewhere too at his peak, maybe mcnabb too but hes nowhere near as good now as he was. favres never really been up with the elite imo, too many poor bad-risk throws, but obviously the longevity of his career means hes a cert hall of famer.
