Why do they sometimes take fieldgoals from a funny angle? Like a bit to the left or the right.

I've seen them take them from the middle of the pitch sometimes and am certain that this is the easiest option from the kicker's point of view

the ball is snapped from where it was spotted after the previous play. thats why they sometimes try to move the ball more central on the play before a field goal.

no no no thats not it at all

big booming kickers prefer the right hash as a rule whereas the finesse kickers prefer the left side

So CB, if the 3rd down play has a running back brought down 1 yard from the right hand touchline, and the O decide to attempt a field goal on 4th down, they snap it way out on the right side of the field?

if they previous play finished on the left side of the pitch on the next play the ball would be snapped from the left hashmark
