Hello everyone.

Ive seen a few threads on adthe being a website which plants viruses on your computer. I have shrugged theese off as speculation or competitors comming here to try and prise people away.

However.

i started using adthe not long ago. And all of a sudden a virus called Sdra64.exe has popped its head up on my antivirus. And im having trouble removing it. For those of the non computery minded this is a little bit of information i found on it.

"Sdra64.exe is a trojan virus. The file hides in the system32 folder. The file has been linked to stealing bank account information from the user.

A trojan virus can perform multiple harmful tasks. The file communicates with a remote server outside your computer, possibly transmitting personal information. Trojan viruses are also able to download additional viruses to the users computer. The file is a threat to your personal information."

I am very careful usualy with my pc and i havent had a trojan for years and years.

It seems like too much of a coincidence for me But theres no way i can be completley sure it was adthe that put the trojan there.

SO to conclude this thread its just a friendly warning to you all to be VERY careful and if you are going to be using that site make sure you have a good firewall and antivirus to pick it up. You dont want to wake up tomorrow to find some dip** just deposited all your bank into betfair after they got all your information and placed it on new zealand to win the world cup do you :D

stay safe all.

Ill be posting this on a few sections of the forum just to make sure most people get the message.

ADTHE is the first one for me. However channel surfing is picking up many of the same free feeds and may be vulnerable as well.

a lot of the links are external to the site in question - so the issue isn't directly an issue for that site imo.

use kav as well and its a classic case of kav being over zealous, it basically doesnt like the banner adverts on the pages and its showing flagging as a false positive, despite not liking it it still denies it.
