how come cleveland doesnt have a hockey team?

i follow all of the cleveland teams in us sports for my sins but they dont have a hockey team

anyone know why

With Columbus already located in Ohio and the dwindling crowds/interest in them, I don't think the NHL see the need or interest for another franchise in the state.

The interest or lack of interest in the Lake Eerie monsters is another negative against a NHL side, Although you can't really compare how a NHL franchise would compare to the public with a AHL side. The men in suits wouldn't agree.

i just wondered why it was when you see some of the cities with teams who dont have other sports franchises.. maybe thats why they have nhl :)
