Thanks hayden and the boymoore.

My internet provider AOL says it`s because I`m 6 KM from the nearest exchange. Is this right or are they just taking the p***?

Lol theboymoore!!

yes mightmac, 6km is a long way from your exchange, until 21CN network gets rolled out you can look forward to a poor adsl speed. Cable would be a lot better if available as they don't have the same problems with distance.
Also, note that AOL are in the worse 5 internet providers in the UK and I would use just about anyone over them.

Thanks for the advice Jacob. Unfortunately, there is no cable in the area (lucky to get electricity out here) and internet connection is quite slow 0.4. My contract with AOL finishes soon, so which company would you recommend or does it not matter considering the distance of 6Km to the nearest exchange? Thanks
