WGC Cadillac Championship

06 Mar 13 23:18
(SEASON P/L: +153.43pts ROI: 170.48%)

A T4 (Keegan Bradley @ 34) was the best I could manage last week in the Honda Classic as Michael Thompson ran out a surprise winner.

Off to southern Florida this week as the TPC Blue Monster at Trump Doral hosts what promises to be a cracking tournament boasting a top-class field.

Classy ball-strikers the order of the day. Best of luck to all

Selections:

Hunter MAHAN 2.5pts @ 42

Graeme McDOWELL 2pts @ 65

Jason DAY 2pts @ 55

Ernie ELS 1.5pts @ 100

Zach JOHNSON 1pt @ 140

Padraig HARRINGTON 1pt @ 130

Honda Classic

28 Feb 13 10:35
(SEASON P/L: +163.43pts ROI: 204.29%)

A winner last week in the WGC Matchplay I'm delighted to say (Matt Kuchar @ 36)

It's off to PGA National this week for the Honda Classic and the start of the Florida Swing. Promises to be a test of accuracy which should also serve the long-hitters well and I'm expecting the classier, proven types to rise to the head of affairs.

Bets only again this week due to time constraints.

Best of luck to all

Lee WESTWOOD 4pts @ 26

Keegan BRADLEY 2.5pts @ 34

Ryan PALMER 1pt @ 120

Camilo VILLEGAS 1pt @ 200

Retief GOOSEN 1pt @ 150

Sean O'HAIR 0.5pts @ 480

WGC Accenture Match Play

20 Feb 13 09:07
(SEASON P/L: +53.55pts ROI: 76.50%)

Bets only this week due to time constraints.

Due to the nature of the Match Play format, I consider these to be value selections rather than any strong fancies based on the usual criteria (course form etc).

Should be a cracking event in Arizona. Best of luck to all

Matt KUCHAR 3.5pts @ 36

Martin KAYMER 3pts @ 36

Justin ROSE 2.5pts @ 29

K.J. CHOI 1pt @ 190

Northern Trust Open

13 Feb 13 22:02
(SEASON P/L: +63.55pts ROI: 105.92%)

A T12 (Aaron Baddeley) was the best I could muster last week as on-fire Brandt Snedeker followed up two successive seconds with an impressive win at Pebble Beach.

Baddeley figures in my selections once more this week as the tour heads down the Californian coast to Riviera Country Club, just outside LA, for the Northern Trust Open.

Always a course where quality shines through, it will be a stern test of accuracy off the tee and on the approach in to the small greens:

Zach JOHNSON 2.5pts @ 80
Course should suit his game. T17 here last year and currently 2nd on tour this season for Greens In Regulation

Jim FURYK 2.5pts @ 40
Another who the course should suit, given his accurate, grinding style. Top bracket player who was T11 here last season and T20 three years ago

Aaron BADDELEY 2pts @ 44
Won this two years ago and T11 last season. Clearly in form with two Top 12 finishes in last three weeks

K.J. CHOI 2pts @ 70
Steady, accurate sort and a multiple winner on tour who relishes a test. Top 30 finishes here last three years including T7 two years ago.

Ryan PALMER 1pt @ 110
Another who knows how to get the job done. T24 here last season, 12th in GIR on tour this year and a solo 5th place finish two weeks ago in the Phoenix Open

Good luck all...

A T6 (Bill Haas) was the best I could do last week as Phil Mickelson blew the field away in Arizona with a four-shot victory, finishing only two shots off the all time PGA Tour 72-hole record.

Back to California this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Bill Murray and Rubens Barichello don't represent much value so I've settled on the following to go in to bat for me this week:

Aaron BADDELEY 3pts @ 44
4th here last year and T6 the year before that. A Top 10 already this season at the Farmers and a three-time winner on tour

Tim CLARK 3pts @ 46
With three of the four shortest courses on tour in play this week, Clark's lack of length won't be as much of a disadvantage. T10 in this in 2010 and also T12 in the US Open here the same year. 21st in GIR so far this season and 18th in All Round Ranking

Webb SIMPSON 2pts @ 40
Classy performer who is 7th in GIR this season. Three-time winner on tour

Camilo VILLEGAS 1pt @ 290
Another three-time winner on tour who currently sits 2nd in GRI this season so must be doing something right. Carded a bogey free second round in his last outing in the Farmers, despite missing the cut

Sean O'HAIR 1pt @ 340
Price simply too big at 340 for a player of his ability who has four PGA Tour wins to his name

Good luck all...

No winner last week but another well placed (Nick Watney T4th) but there is not a lot you can do when Tiger is in that mood and swinging the club so well again.

On to Scottsdale, Arizona this week for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Nothing really stands out from an ideal profile point of view for this tournament so focusing on good drivers of the ball, preferably with some decent tournament form:

Bill HAAS 3pts @ 46
A Top 20 in this last year. Solid driver and multiple winner on tour who is in form

Aaron BADDELEY 2pts @ 60
Scottsdale resident who won this in 2007. He T6 last week at Torrey Pines

J.B. HOLMES 1pt @ 95
Won this in 2006 & 2008

Geoff OGILVY 1pt @ 130
Another Scottsdale resident. Class act who T13 here two years ago

Ricky BARNES 1pt @ 180
Arizona resident who has already posted two Top 20s this season

Bryce MOLDER 1pt @ 260
Tour winner and another Scottsdale resident. T15 here last year and T8 in 2010

Stewart CINK 0.5pt @ 470
Simply too big a price for a class act rediscovering his form

Martin FLORES 0.5pts @ 350
Long hitter with a good short game who finished T19 here last season

Good luck all...

Farmers Insurance Open

22 Jan 13 20:52
(SEASON P/L: +93.55pts ROI: 311.83%)

A winner last week in the Humana (Brian Gay @ 130) after going so close with Tim Clark the previous week in the Sony Open.

Still in California this week but further down the coast in San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open, a tournament whose long host course (Torrey Pines South, used for three of the four rounds) promises a fair test with tight fairways and small greens. Previous decent tournament form has so often proved vital in this:

Nick WATNEY 4pts @ 25
Class act who won this in 2009 and posted Top 10s in 2010 & 2011

D.A. POINTS 1pt @ 160
Tour winner who has finished in Top 10 in this in each of the last three seasons

Camilo VILLEGAS 1pt @ 160
Three-time tour winner who finished T3 here in 2009

Ben CRANE 1pt @ 130
Four-time tour winner who won this in 2010

Stewart CINK 1pt @ 200
Six-time tour winner who finished T3 here in 2008. Showed definite signs of a return to his old self last week after a long time tinkering with swing

Justin HICKS 0.5pts @ 670
Led the US Open here after Round 1 in 2008. Led web.com Tour for GIR last year and was 7th in Driving Accuracy and 17th in Putting

Martin FLORES 0.5pts @ 530
Long hitter with a good short game who finished T8 here last season

Trevor IMMELMAN 0.5pts @ 410
Solid and creative enough game to win a US Masters and shot a 64 in second round last week

Brendan STEELE 0.5pts @ 460
Californian who has won on tour and finished T17 here two years ago
