THE CHIT CHAT CAESARS PALACE QUIZ RULES
The quiz will consist of fifty four questions on the following subjects: General Knowledge (maximum eight questions) History (maximum eight questions) Science and Nature (maximum eight questions) Geography (maximum eight questions) Sport and Leisure (maximum eight questions) Film and Television (maximum eight questions) Words and Numbers (maximum eight questions) Art and Literature[color] (maximum eight questions) Each question corresponds to one of the fifty two playing cards (plus the jokers) in a normal deck. Although ostensibly a fastest finger first affair, this quiz is entirely picture based and answers may not be readily apparent. I hope this will give all players a fair and even chance of success. The winner of the first question ([color=black]on general knowledge) will receive the 5 ♥ and win the right to choose the card and subject for the following question. No penalty is levied for an incorrect answer, but if nobody is correct the card is automatically awarded to the late Stu Ungar. JOKERS Jokers are the most powerful cards in the Chit Chat Caesars Palace Quiz. They are wild. Recipients of jokers may use them in the end game as any other card in the deck to improve their hand. Joker questions will be General Knowledge. No player can hold both Jokers in their hand. If the winner of the first joker is first in with the correct answer to the second Joker the card is awarded to Stu Ungar. TEA BREAKS c[_] There will be tea breaks after each tenth card has been dealt. THE END GAME Once all fifty four questions have been asked the player with the best five card poker hand is declared the winner. If a player does not have five cards in their hand, blanks are issued to make up the number. A player holding only Q ♥ 3 ♣ and K ♦ for example, is issued with two blanks and declares Ace High as his final hand. The game will end early should any player hold a hand of Four of a Kind Jacks or better. POKER HAND RANKINGS WITH JOKERS WILD Five of a Kind. Example: A ♥ A ♣ A ♦ A ♠ Joker Royal Flush. Example: 10 ♣ J ♣ Q ♣ K ♣ A ♣ Straight Flush. Example: 3 ♥ 4 ♥ 5 ♥ 6 ♥ 7 ♥ Four of a Kind. Example: 8 ♥ 8 ♣ 8 ♦ 8 ♠ 3 ♥ Full House. Example: K ♠ K ♣ K ♦ Q ♥ Q ♦ Flush. Example: K ♥ 10 ♥ 7 ♥ 3 ♥ 2 ♥ Straight. Example: 10 ♠ J ♠ Q ♥ K ♦ A ♦ Three of a Kind. Example: A ♦ A ♠ A ♥ 7 ♥ 3 ♣ Two Pair. Example: J ♣ J ♥ 5 ♥ 5 ♣ A ♠ One Pair. Example: 4 ♣ 4 ♥ A ♠ K ♥ Q ♦ High Card. Example: A ♥ Q ♦ 10 ♣ 9 ♣ 3 ♠ GENERAL RULES OF THE GAME Surnames are acceptable unless a full name has been requested in the question. Abbreviations are entered at the quizzer's own risk; some are acceptable and some are not. Villa instead of Aston Villa, for example, would be permissable. KD instead of Kentucky Derby would not. As a general rule of thumb: if you're unsure if the abbreviation will be acceptable, it probably isn't. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
