Yep read it earlier punchestown.
Considering he has history in the neglect of horses four years was extremely lenient imo.
To do it once is inexcusable but could be perhaps explained away but to then go and wilfully neglect a further batch of the poor things should have resulted in his complete warning off for life.
Btw his ban only extends to training and he's permitted to continue caring for and looking after horses in another capacity as in assistant trainer etc from what I believe.

Reflects really badly on the game as a whole,the public are constantly told that race horses are really well looked after before,during and after racing.

I read up on his previous case as I wasn't completely sure of the facts.
It's even worse than I remembered and should have been enough for his complete warning off for life there and then without allowing another batch of poor animals to fall into his grasp.
He neglected a horse so badly with sores all over it's body and in so much pain it eat the flesh off it's own legs including the tendons in a bid to ease the pain from them.
He should never have been allowed near horses again after that but he got a 4 month suspension instead.
He got just under 4 years this time but is allowed continue working in the industry and looking after horses.
The IHRB are seriously out of touch and make me embarrassed to be irish .

I would have a pretty poor opinion of the guy regardless of his cruelty record.
