An early lesson I learned some years ago: banish people from your life that moan, whinge, gossip and generally try to drag you down to their level because, generally, you can find people who are decent and try their best even in difficult circumstances. The naysayers depend on anonymity or the protection of the mob. They are easily done without and life is a lot more pleasant.
