I was told the same Punchestown and had put it into my notebook so hopefully it goes ahead, I was going to book Goodwood for 28th 29th but have just been told due to crowd limits I mightn't be allowed in, so that's kind of put the damper on it. Pointless heading over boat hotel expences etc only to be turned away..

That date is for Ireland, not sure about across the pond,I would imagine big meetings will be all ticket affairs with the limit on numbers so I suppose no ticket/no travel??

|

Yes will have to wait till picture becomes clearer...

Like myself W/R we are not getting any younger, with so many people breaking the rules it might be better watching the races on T.V. , I know your a true racegoer so hard to stay at home, I will skip it myself for this year. Take care

Frank60, at this stage if I had hair i'd pull it out with frustration
, never have I missed racing so much, last time anything like me not having a bet for this long was 2007 , my Daughter decided to get married in New York and I needed to save hard, no bet for 3 months that year, looks as if I could be in for a longer dry spell this year Frank... |

Hello workrider
Whilst things are going in the right direction over here goodwood is a long long way from Holyhead let alone the boat trip, to find out you won’t be allowed in,I would still say it’s not worth chancing it,good to see things are going really well over there. |
|
By:
Thanks Foxy, might be seeing you over here sooner than over there so.

I was hoping to do a couple of trips for the summer jumps workrider but with this 14 day quarantine I will probably wait till listowel, even that with restricted attendance might be in the balance,I have got free cancellation on accommodations,if not back to normal by troytown hattans grace week ,then we’re all in big trouble.

Jeez i looked at when the opening post!
The current situation of 1 flight a day into Cork from Heathrow( impossible almost to get on unless a dignatory or bereavement or similar) and about 5 non domestic flights into Dublin daily, with nothing in any other Irish airport. However and fingers crossed things at least with Ire/UK getting much better, besides racing it would be great to at least travel though both should be timed near enough. |

any indication on the return of crowds to horse racing after yesterdays upbeat news from ireland ?
i saw an interview earlier in the year where it was suggested if at all in 2021 it will not be until the 3rd quarter and cloone river on the other forum was thinking along the same lines. |

Workrider you can book Goodwood for July on their website. If you have tickets they will let you in. The only danger would be if things got worse and restrictions on numbers were introduced again, you would know well in advance and Goodwood would refund you.
The plan is unlimited numbers from June 21st. At the moment the limit is 4000 per track I gather that it is likely we will have to book tickets in advance for most of this year to comply with track and trace I was at Brighton on Tuesday and Lingfield today, nearly normal. No masks outside. Masks while walking about inside. Bars and restaurants open. Owners allowed in the parade ring There were about 600 spectators at each. Lingfield have pre sold 2000 for Saturday evening |

I say it was good to be back mrcombustible?Hopefully it will be sooner then later in Ireland when punters and bookmakers get back..
The time has come for Irish racecourses to do they bit for punters and on course bookmakers without them the place is soulless. |

royal ascot can now have 10,000 instead of 4,000 however chester on saturday only 2,200 instead of 4,000 that might be the fact the cheapest ticket is £60 mean while the darts were full last night with all that singing that goes with it, and 15,000 can go to the cricket in birmingham.

With Royal Ascot you must have 2 tests before and another test 5 days after the meeting
