When the bookies eventually reach the stage where they cant lose , will the concept of being a bookmaker be out the window ?  Instead could they be described as "brokers" ? FOBT activity and  slots plus already mean that they hardly classify as bookmakers in the old sense .

What IS lacking though in the light of developments in recent years is any sort of regulation . Governments are to blame for letting the situation drift , it took years for the FOBT anti lobby to get legislation passed to try to limit the stakes and inhibit the  money laundering involved .
