I don't like Hook and his west Brit mentality but the crowd that took him down are a complete shower of merchant bankers.

He should not  have apologised but argued for his sincerely held opinion -which many share. His grovelling didn't save his job and some female commentators flung the apology back in his face anyway.
I know it's a big ask but Hook's career is near the end  and he has little or nothing  to lose.
If veteran campaigners like Hook (and Myers) don't stand their ground it's game,set and match to  the left wing PC mob who are increasingly rampant in education and the media.

I actually happened to hear Hook when it was aired, and I almost never listen to the radio. Everything he said, I found myself in complete agreement with. Could scarcely believe it when all the furore started subsequently. Absolute disgrace is what it is , and to be fair to the guy, he had no choice to apologise, even though he wouldn't have meant it. He would have been under pressure from his employers to keep advertisers on side.
At the end of the day Hook only said what many many people were thinking, and the biggest disappointment of all was that  dirty thing Varadkar condemning him. I know what I'd like to do to that knobbend, but he'd probably enjoy it.

Spot on Jimeen,a head of a country getting involved on what some pundit said on the radio,so so very unprofessional,he was already heading downhill for sticking his oar into the Egyptian judicial system.

If you go out meet up with a complete stranger and go to a hotel room or back to his place then your putting yourself in danger and have to shoulder some of the blame for sheer stupidity,

If i go on holidays and leave the front door wide open with the curtains back and a sign in the garden telling the milkman im away for a forthnight im sure i wouldnt get much sympethy when i return and the gaff has been turned over.

That the rape crisis centre and womens groups are attacking Hook instead of encouraging women to keep themselves safer discredits them imo.

Look i must admit i "LOLed" at Nogoodys post, i was going to reply along the lines we have our own Taoiseach Putin but it was a poor follow up.
