There is a big crackdown on underage betting on the racetrack  at present , a mother landed a child a few euro to place a bet is deemed underage betting now and the bookmakers is threatened with sanction ,
however PP never received any investigation having taken large bets from a post office employee whose was well known not to be a position to be able to afford such wagers.
A friend who is an on course bookie received a letter earlier this week that he is under warning having taken a bet at Fairyhouse from a child in the presence of her mum.
ffs what is going on, I saw the Yellow bookie drinking cider at his pitch at gowran but no sanction

In Britain, the Gambling Commission has been running sting operations on underage betting for years, in shops and on the course. It is easy to be cynical and suggest it is an easy pinch, and requires no expertise on the GC's part, and deals with a problem likely to be self-limiting simply because most schoolkids don't have that much to lose in the first place.
