Couldn't be certain any of these will enjoy the ground so I'm going to take a chance that Chris Hayes thinks Moghamarah can beat the fav

Two very decent 2yo, probably the top 2 2yo seen out in Ireland so far, a) because they should improve for the run and b) because they should improve on better ground........

Think Chris thought he had the field covered when the O'Brien horse dropped away, was coming back at the winner at the death, unlucky.

Question that has to be asked is was the fav busy,I backed it @ 11/8 and felt he was never put into the race, for a horse that had racing experience he was never asked a serious question.Heffo was also at fault riding Lagonore never putting her into the race till it was all over,I'd say Tony was not best pleased ,that's two races she's lost to jockey error recently.

Hi Workrider, although the fav ran well enough on debut on yielding ground, there had to be doubts about whether Sundays ground was suitable. I'm going to put the lack lustre performance down to the ground. I doubt we'll see the horse on very soft ground again. I'm confident the first two will prove to be right up there with the best seen so far (IMO Commander Grigio).

What do you guys think about those seen so far and the "lack" of decent A P OBrien 2yo winners. Are we witnessing the Fall Of The Aiden Empire or are all his good 2yo going to be late on the scene this season?

PS when I said doubts about whether ground would be suitable, I meant because sire never raced on anything worse than good, which immediately set alarm bells ringing for me. I know sire ground preferences aren't necessarily passed on, but its always wise to consider when betting imvho.

Agreed, and I don't think the ground helped. But I do think the winner could be very decent, and await next run with high expectation

Surprised there wasn't more of a hoo-ha over the ride (didn't back it),seemed very confident he would win and sat motionless at just the wrong time.

Dess, why run it then if they thought the ground was against! You are correct when you say not all sires progeny have the same ground liking, that has been proved over the years,of course it does help when assessing a horses chance,it should be used as a rule of thump rather than fact.
