Dublin still has the problem, O Connell Street, along the Red Luas line from Abbey Street to Hueston Station

Sorry Premier, i know the way i wrote that it implied it was in the 80's only,i didn't mean it still wasn't there.
The scale stunned me over the weekend, normally going back over the last few years i only saw isolated cases. |

I would imagine it's the same as up here, the scrotes are allowed wander the roads off their tits, being a public nuisance and a threat to people. I have seen it myself on a Luas on the Red Line, trying to pickpocket and intimidate tourists, they never pay on yet never get fined even when caught (a perk of being a walking zombie off your head).
Let's be frank there is so much wrong with this country as a whole, lack of housing (they're never going to fix that as the council block almost every apartment build suggestion as it will ruin the skyline), a health service that's a joke, cost of living rising constantly, wages never reflecting that. What is going to happen when all my age group who the vast majority have no prayer of ever owning their own home get to retirement age?? Actually I doubt they've ever thought 10 mins ahead let alone years. It's no life for a massive majority of 20-40 year old living in this country, is it any wonder so many cannot wait to get out. The state educate them and then other countries get the benefit of that education, it's genius. |

Gone off on a wee bit of a rant there, apologies

Not at all, your first paragraph summed up the scrotes(Dub)/scobies(Cork) bang on,as does your second with all that is wrong. They(politicians, paymasters etc) are bogged down on very minor points,ie the likes of Dr Jim used to bang on about the danger of cigs but the heroin was ignored. As a supposedly wealthy country it is failing a lot of its people, the housing for young people is a disgrace, no chance for them unless they inherit in a lot of cases, rent is such dead money only paying someone elses morgage and probably a simple step with a goverment to put a proper scheme with both affordable loans and build affordable housing but of course they are only after the vote.

were a shambles really
after all the religious scandals weve endured, were giving ownership of the main maternity hospital to the catholic church? dress it up any way you want but thems the facts. the water debacle is a total embarassment.from the hulk hogan telling us if we dont pay he would give us enough water to sustain life but not enough to drink tea twice a day,to the ridiculously named "conservation grant". ff running the country with enda as a puppet taoiseach. it wont get any better lads!! |

premier, you prompted me to write an equally long and depressing rant about our state. Its so utterly depressing I will do you a favour, delete it, and merely say: I agree with you.

Just one example of how we do things so badly: no law and order on the streets that would baton and apprehend and trouble-makers with guards properly trained and equipped to get rid of the scourge as is normal in most continental european states.

Purely cost based blind eye attitudes...

a few scoobies hanging around the streets don't allow the dealers to drive around in Mercs.....its the middle/upper classes who are the big consumers of the stuff. Of course when one of them gets a dodgy batch, we are forced to listen to the wailing and crying from RTE about how poor "Sorcha" had such a bright future etc....

No deterrent in this country, you have to kill someone to go to jail,
Anything else free legal aid solicitors will tell the judge far fetched yarns even the defendants find it hard not to laugh at. Many lazy guards and no prisons also helps criminals do as they please, pavee point etc etc ..sad country |

Don't think cork is worse than anywhere else and dublin seems to be like harlem in the 1920's.
Only problem is solicitors and govt. Garda numbers are down 2000 and gardai cant give a guy a clip without a smartphone videoing them and a case going to court. In fact last week a bunch of culchie teenagers attacked a Garda in mayo. It's everywhere. I hate smoking and drugs. Answer is zero tolerance. However prison officers are also cut and our prisons are full. So find the solution? |
