I'm travelling over this year for the irish national just for the day. We get into Dublin airport around 9-9.30am I think.

There are two of us going and we are thinking of getting a taxi from the airport straight to Fairyhouse rather than going into Dublin centre and getting a bus etc from there later. Does this seem reasonable both in terms of taxi costs (we'd have to pay to get to Dublin and then to the course anyway) and also are there reasonable places (racing type pubs) to drink etc in fairyhouse when we get there?

Any help from those that have done this before or live there would be most appreciated......

Dublin Airport to Fairyhouse direct by taxi is the right thing to do. I've never driven that route but cant be more than 20 minutes.
Fairyhouse doesnt exist as a town by itself but is right outside the town of Ratoath (about 1 mile).
