Huge game,Wales look as good as out if they don't win this, sure to be attack minded which ought to make it an exciting game.
Bale an obvious plus for them being back from injury quicker than expected but been impressed with Ireland so far, they have improved in leaps and bounds under O'Neill.
No bet game for me, hope Ireland go a long way towards booking their tickets for next year.

I fear for us Pa, O'Shea and co at the back are a disaster waiting to happen.Hopefully our midfield and forwards do the business.I read it as a 1.0. either way,but hoping it's in our favor .
Report pa lapsy March 24, 2017 8:43 PM GMT
Good free flowing game,,they look very equal and winner could get it up a bit of luck, not a shot on target for either in 1st half and no real clear cut chances, stalemate so far.
Report workrider March 24, 2017 9:14 PM GMT
That does not look good...
Report pa lapsy March 24, 2017 9:18 PM GMT
Sky wouldn't show it again which says it all.

Could get it now but Wales were on top before that.
Report workrider March 24, 2017 9:23 PM GMT
Sad thing is Pa, Coleman never went into the Welsh half till then,I think O'Neill could be Trapp reincarnated....
Report workrider March 24, 2017 9:34 PM GMT
Can't believe how well Whelan is playing.
Report pa lapsy March 24, 2017 9:36 PM GMT
Very limited squad though WR,bit of pressure but still haven't looked like scoring since the sending off, great chance  to have got the 3 points.
Report cacique March 24, 2017 9:37 PM GMT
Are they afraid to get it in the box, Wales keeper is flapping

REF  BOTTLED IT SHOULD SENT BALE OF 10 SECONDS BEFORE THE UNLUCKY COLEMAN GOT BAD BREAK .
Report workrider March 24, 2017 10:49 PM GMT
That was the worst display from a Irish team since the Trapp era, never had a go .
Report olddesperado March 24, 2017 10:56 PM GMT
Agree norn,

Bale should have been off and if the ref had did his job Coleman would not be facing an uncertain career.

I would have preffered if Bale had got no card tbh as then the ref could say he was unsighted or something but to have seen it and only deemed it a yellow was bad.

In fairness he was doing a good job before that and did well after too.

One bad call led to a broken leg though.

I think they just didnt have the ability Workrider,

I dont often agree with the studio but without Brady and Houlihan we had no finess to create anything.

Still way better on the eye than traps teams.
Report workrider March 24, 2017 11:07 PM GMT
Maybe I'm looking for us to be better than we can Olddesperado, still I thought we gave them too much respect.Houlihan and Brady a massive loss,we need to kill off games but we don't seem to have the ability to do so.
Report olddesperado March 24, 2017 11:34 PM GMT
No your right we dont have and depend a lot on a mistake or knock down.

To have 11 points at this stage though is brilliant.

Punching well above our weight when you look at that team.

Things looking bright for Irish Soccer.CryThey wouldn,t score in a brothel with 2 grand in there pockets.
Report CheltenhamRoar March 29, 2017 12:45 AM BST
What really p!sses me off is the downright reluctance to give LOI players a chance, Horgan and Boyle are prime examples that if you don't play outside of Ireland you will not be considered, it's a joke, I mean, it was so obvious Horgan was international class when playing for Dundalk but was never picked in the squad but as soon as he's playing in England he's picked, and seriously why in the name of god is Kevin Doyle still been picked?? It's an absolute farce
Report CheltenhamRoar March 29, 2017 12:48 AM BST
I mean we are crying out for a decent striker, there's Sean Maguire banging goals in for fun every week but deemed not good enough because it's in the LOI, but yet Kevin Doyle who isn't fit to lace Maguire's boots continues to be picked
Report workrider March 29, 2017 2:56 PM BST
Fair point Chelt, couldn't believe Doyle was still playing when watching highlights last night.
Report neill d March 30, 2017 12:32 AM BST
Doyle could conceivably be considered a whole ten years past his prime. I think I knew Eamon Dunphy had cracked when he suggested Arsenal should sign him during said prime for his 'work with his back to goal.' The ball just bounces off him most of the time, even back then!

Hard worker and a good lad, though.
Report CheltenhamRoar March 30, 2017 10:01 AM BST
Neill I think Doyle gets filed under "stolen a career" he's in good company though with the likes of Gary Doherty and Aiden McGeady
Report neill d March 30, 2017 12:34 PM BST
McGeady is possibly the most frustrating footballer I've ever seen. He has that much ability that Everton took a punt on him when he hadn't done anything in years. Thought he looked sharp on Friday when he got on, I don't know why he doesn't try and simplify his crossing to just trying to get it beyond the first man, every time he tries to pick someone out or cross low, he makes a mess of it; whereas I've seen him just chip the ball to the far post and it work out okay.

That's the problem with him for me, 29 or 30 and he still can't figure out what he can and can't do on a football pitch.

I don't know if it is coincidence, but Robbie Keane got big on the hand signals around the time he was partnered with Doyle.
Report peckerdunne March 30, 2017 1:30 PM BST
McGeady is the sort you just want to knock out as a team mate...

He is one of those 5 a side types who just never got with the programme..

Everton were insane to take that punt on a guy proven to never change..

He is not premiership standard looking at it in the round...
Report neill d March 30, 2017 2:45 PM BST
I think it is all based on 2 performances for Celtic against Milan in the Champions League in 2007, to be fair to him, he did look like one of the best young attackers in Europe that night.
Report CheltenhamRoar March 30, 2017 8:45 PM BST
Loads of ability no brains
Report workrider March 31, 2017 10:04 AM BST
Reminds me of McManaman, dazzling footwork with no end product.
Report peckerdunne March 31, 2017 10:33 AM BST
Sorry, i am not a Liverpool fan.

McGeady is not on the same planet as Steve Mc.

Leagues apart.
Report workrider March 31, 2017 10:47 AM BST
Not saying he is Pecker, just giving an example of who he reminds of,he'd never get in the Madrid first team that's for sure. Thing is he has ability, just has a tendency to overdo things instead of doing the simple thing.
Report neill d March 31, 2017 2:42 PM BST
Thought McManaman was a tremendous player myself, McGeady wouldn't have one tenth of the athleticism he had. Did his stuff in some very big games too. Would've flown even higher under Ferguson.
Report by purpose March 31, 2017 5:57 PM BST
Wasting his time trying to play football.Down the West End tap dancing is were its at.
