Too pro Europe for me but in this instance I hope he finds his courage and tell those disloyal backbenchers that he doesn't respond to ultimatums.

These are the same backbenchers who had full confidence in him yesterday.

Sure it's only politics. Get in, get reelected and luck after number one.......simple.

I understand your cynicism Gant but give me a solution.....

If you believed in water charges you simply could not say that in 90% of constituencies (Enda's famous man-with-pints-in-both-hands parable)

If you agree with the experts that Waterford didn't need a cath lab you simply could not say it....John Halligan now about to die because he became part of (inevitable) concensus Government politics and was forced to pronounce against the baying mob (local hospital hysteria)

If you think that many people are work shy thanks to an over-generous welfare state, try saying that; try call people "whingers" when Ireland's most popular Radio programme gives us evidence of same every day

You get the odd greenhorn like George Lee togging out to save the world; most others are wiser and more world weary.

Not much room in our PR system for a surfeit of idealism.

Reform the political voting system is my suggested solution and we can have Dail politicians akin to absentee landlords and let county councillors do the local, mundane, god-awfully boring advocacy.

George Lee was a strange one as he was on double a TD's salary at RTE.

RoyalAcademy...The above quote was from former Minister Ivan Yates. As for a solution to enda's backbenchers.....let them at it, he will step down in April when he breaks the FG record for time in office as Taoiseach.

You can be sure Yates said that after he left politics. Can't stand him as a commentator-his sense of humour never left the school bike shed.

There is that infantile part of him but he is a deadly pundit ( reckons Varadkar should be 1/8 ) and is fond of a bet.

Oh he's deadly alright, he tipped up Lowry at 1/5 for most first preference votes in the last election.

Didn't even make the top 5!

I thought Lowry had no chance, backed four to beat him at big prices but forgot about Kerry.

He may have got that wrong but was stunningly accurate in his constituency profiles on Newstalk.

Check back on that Wildmanfromborneo.....he got a fair bit of it badly wrong.

Yates is a decent guy but he could'nt make it as a bookie and now he tells everyone how to run the country

Lads with inflated ego's never change. At least his debts got wiped out for him.

Enda Kenny should do what Brian Cowen did, resign as leader of FG but remain as Taoiseach.

That would scupper the power hungry Leo Varadkar.

Ivan yates is an immature spoofer of the highest order. Chris O' Donoghue carried him n the breakfast show for years but their blend did work.

He continued acquiring shops in 2007 and virtually completely ignored the online platform. A child could have told him the direction the industry was going and yet he pontificates like some business maestro.

When he had his shops, he was moaning about "sharks" who had the cheek to take best prices.

Enda should do a reshuffle and sack the lot.   And resign in April.

at least that beauty regina doherty is bringing in a great law..with brexit and trumpo hanging over us she bringing in a law that will save us all.  while driving,  if your car is less than 1.5 metres from a cyclist you get 3 peno points and an instant 80e fine.  talk about bullsh1t   if the cyclist veers over near you its tough on you but its your fault!!   when you see the likes of this it makes you wonder..

Kavvie you certainly have a problem with blue shirt women.

Regina Doherty is the best performer in this current Dail.
She should have a big ministry,an ideal replacement for Michael Noonan.
Her sole problem is her constituency, not guaranteed to hold her seat.

i went to school with a few blue shirt women ,now tds wfb.no problem with them at all.  i used to like regina  a few years ago,she was certainly one of the few that vincent browne couldnt get the better of!! but i feel shes gone a bit arrogant of late and this latest proposal is totally silly and wont do her standing with the general pubic or the heavily insured heavily taxed motorist

Regina Doherty is your typical toe the party line merchant. She should have had the book thrown at her for her own business dealings.
After her carry on, I don't think she will get re elected.
