Today i treated myself to a hot towel shave, beard trim and general grooming + wellness session in a local Barber club/shop. The lads where i go are good award winning barbers, super professionals, basically having their job down to a fine art and are also Turkish. As i was going out the door in a very relaxed mood the owner came up to me and wished me a very Merry Christmas as well as one of the younger stylists, i was slightly taken aback and straight away i remembered Wildman making an ignorant comment on here about how Muslims would never wish a Christian a Merry Christmas or a Happy Easter (As i was wished in a Muslim restaurant earlier this year), well Wildman today these Turkish gents proved you very much wrong today. Feel free to try & ridicule however this will just firmly show you up as a serious narrow minded bigot my friend. You need to get out and experience other cultures, Merry Christmas as they say in the Turkish barbers.

Rocketfingers watch the news you might have noticed events in Berlin and a Christmas market. I accept your timing is unfortunate but have you not heard of the word Winterval. Have you not heard of Muslims being offended by Christmas. Christmas isint that religious anymore but it is Western and the gentlemen you and your sidekick champion despise anything Western. |

Mate you're totally wrong, these lads are hispters, they embrace the western culture, they love football sure and music is always on point too that they are playing. I think you are painting with a very broad brush there and i think you need to stop your religious hatred of an entire religion based on a few lunatics.

There was no Turkish barbers. The restaurant you alluded to started off as an Indan,then became Bangladeshi and ended as Tandoori. Your knowledge of Islam is so limited that having exhausted the Indian sub continent you moved your pretence to Turkey and Christmas blissfully unaware of events in Berlin,the assassination of the Russian ambassador in Ankara another event that escaped your notice. |

Good post Rock, Festive Salutations!
Was on a Xmas jolly last night with a couple of buddies, a Lebanese guy and a Persian (that's Iran, Wonks) as it happens. Both members of what the Chit Chat Echo Chamber* would call the 'religion of peace'. It's fair to say we were all in the Festive spirit and when pressed they assured me the had no plans to invade our civilisation. Phew! Quel relief! I hear the Scouse fans have taken Sadio Mane, a devout Muslim, to their hearts and were heard singing a Shakin' Stevens number on Monday night; Mane's scoring, all around us, Kopites singing, having fun, it's the season, love and understanding, Merry Christmas, Everton That's the spirit! Hug a Muslim this Xmas, chaps. Love is stronger than hate. Let Love Rule   |

here is the problem, many muslims are westernised..many are not,as wildman says,we have problems because islam is a religion that those that follow it can turn against decent people..the one big thing is...ask a muslim to go out with a white girl..they will, their sexual prefrences will be western shall we say...but the same muslims will marry a muslim woman and treat her differently..no ****s etc..because of islam, i know muslim lads born here (bradford) good friend of mine..loves going out and white girls..but he,ll not marry one..he,ll only marry a muslim, and he told me about the sex part..muslim woman are not asked to profide the same services shall we say..... respect..the simple fact is muslims not born here should not be allowed to stay here... we are at war with these people.. |

Not always what it seems those food queues, Tony. I guy I went to school with works casually as a painter and decorator. He has a couple of kids with this girl he is with since school.
They all went off to Spain just before Christmas (2 weeks I think) he finished a job sanding and varnishing all of the floors in a fella's house, got €2,000 for the job, cash in hand. Told me he was going to go over to Spain, was going to spend most of it, come back with cigarettes and booze and I sh1t you not, he was going to go to St. Vincent De Paul to get this Christmas Hamper with a ham and turkey in it. This isn't true of most people but he told me there are plenty around his way that do the same. He said some fellas were even getting their electricity bill paid by them. This was last year and I no longer give money to that charity over it. |

Now I understand as well that it works the other way with charities and welfare, that there are people very much entitled to it and they are screwed over jumping through hoops to get what they should have by right.
It's because of fellas like the above. My experience of food poeverty is that the kid in school not eating properly is more often the son or daughter of the parents with the big mortgage and the big car, that can't get out from behind it. |

i see there were 57 spare empty bed in homeless shelters in dublin last night( stated by simon coveney).some politician said no matter how many beds are available theres always a cohort of people who want to sleep on the streets..this seems to bear it out?

They want to sleep on the streets as sc*mbags are openly injecting, smoking, snorting drugs in these shelters and nothing gets done about it, so many don't feel safe in these shelters, they can't get any sleep due to the knackers off their heads all night. Coveney is a clown way out of his depth.
