He nearly bought the lot , never in all my years have I seen one man buy so many in one go.Hope he finds a gem or two among them.

Millionaire time over his may be but what an idiot.

He bought about 20 mares at a sale for €5K and under a few years ago and the same fella has Chimes and Midnight as a sire.  Enough said!!

Just been catching up on irish fields,  im a little behind with them.

76 bought for a total of around half a million give or take.

Seems a strange stratagy with culled mares,

Surely the cost of 76 stallion fees , keep of 152 mares and foals inc vets and reg etc would far outweigh the benefit of getting lucky finding one or two nice ones out of a bunch of poor broodmares ? .

You wouldn't even see that stock if scattered out at his 3 stud farms. Not as silly as some loudmouths think. He wouldn't be the first wealthy man to give a son a leg up.
