Gusty Rocky in the 3.05, unlucky not to win at Cork last time over hurdles, destroyed a very good field during the Summer here. 12/1 best price now, don't think I'll get that on here but 7/1 or better is fine. Ridestan in the 4.20, only 3 lengths behind Tocororo when the 2 met at Galway 2 starts ago, gets a 10 pound pull at the weights. Might have failed to stay at Galway too. I'm not convinced by Tocororo's jumping and her last 2 races fell apart. Ridestan jumped carefully the first twice but much better last time. Very interesting for a graded chase to have 3 flat breds at the top of the market. Lieutenant Colonel looks a bet in the 5.25, most of his opposition were slow burners over hurdles, even a reproduction of his chase debut 2 years ago should suffice, but could be a better horse for Elliott, who has already improved Prince Of Scars and Wrath Of Titans from Hughes. 4/5 or better is acceptable.
Couldn't have Down Under away from Kilbeggan. If Road To Riches is on his game he should win the feature easily, if not then it's a complete tossup. I think Devils Bride (who though trained by De Bromhead may as well still be a Mullins horse as he's only a few days in the yard) and Ballycasey are flattered by their official ratings, Rock The World might not stay and The Game Changer almost certainly won't stay. |

I'm way out of kilter with horses lately.
I thought Road To Riches Plate run was alarming, maybe it was the big field or previous fall but surely he would want another look before you could back him? Old RTR would win handily but would look to me a cheap place lay in the 1/4-3/10 range. Ballycasey looked the solid ew option but price long gone. GL,it looks a hard card to me. |

Road to Riches run in the plate can easily be excused. Cooper was obviously under orders to make the run and after missing an early fence he started to force him rather than giving him a chance. If he has the balls to get him into a rhythm hell win but thats a big if !

Blood Crazed Tiger looks like he's gone too big for the next at 10.5. Mouse has a horrific record with hurdle debutantes.

Good shot CC,lovely price and good reasoning.

Thanks Pa, annoyed with Loughran's ride on Gusty Rocky there, going 10 wide on the home turn that can be disastrous around Gowran.

Can't believe Ballycasey has done that, was a dodgepot for so long. Meade has a major job on his hands with R2R.

Trip was bang on i think CC, RTR was safe but very tentative, ability still there but gonna lose ground at the fences, couldn't have him for a while either.

What a job De Bromhead has done with Ridestan. Absolute flat horse on looks and pedigree but jumps better than 90% of chasers.

really rate him with chasers..de bromhead, real nice fella as well, hope he gets another top horse!

Lovely tipping cc. Ridistan will go in again. I thought the jockey nearly got caught napping, he could have won more easily.
Pa, In the case of Ballycasey,I would never be put off backing a 5/2 shot each way. |

In the right circumstances i wouldn't either The Gotchee,
Normally do a bit study when the decs are out but busy yesterday morning and got caught up in the golf later. I left it go as missed the 5/1-9/2 last night,it was best 3/1 when had a look at the race this morning. Bit typical of horse betting lately,RTR went a fair bit over evens ir for a place after laying admittedly small at just over 1/4, left that go as was watching on atr, sloppy on my part. Wanta buck up. Nice to see a days racing thread on here. |
