the strength of a race should be judged by the depth of the field, not how good the winner is..............
the g1 that caravaggio won last week was a total farce. tomorrow we have another very disappointing g2 race at the curragh..........churchill is 4/6 in what looks a match v capri........both trained by o'brien with one more for him, one for joe and one for bolger.......
pat keane wrote a good article about the entry fees for these races making it hard for english trainers to enter.........this must be addressed............
there was a time when bolger had dawn approach, new approach and teofilio.......horses that could beat ballydoyle but those days are gone..........a new force is needed in irish flat racing..........godolphin or qatar should set up their own yard with an exclusive trainer to stop these races becoming a joke.
The Gotchee isn't far wrong BDJ, Royal Academy picked likely sorts against Coolmore for the 3 major 2yo group races of the season,it now looks as if their block entries will probably suf fice, they will run their best, hopefully something comes from elsewhere but odds on it probaby won't.
