Mayo -5 1/1, Mayo -4 8/11 and Mayo -3 4/7.  These are fantastic bets.  I cant believe the amount of pundits that are talking up Tipp.  They have no chance.  Mayo at 50% would win this game by 7 points +.  The gulf in class between these teams is massive and cant see anything other than a once sided win for Mayo.

while i agree with you to a certain extent and mayo should win the fact that galway beat mayo by 5 points  and tipp beat galway by 10 points would temper enthusiasm a small bit..ive mayo bkd to win all ire so getting over the line will do me fine..
Report Bigwillystyle August 19, 2016 11:06 AM BST
Wouldnt take either of those results at face value.  Mayo are 10 points a better side than Galway.

Also would take the Tipp win over Galway with a pinch of salt.  Galway would nearly be favs if they played tomorrow.

I have also backed Mayo for AL and would like to see a scrappy 6 point win which would leave them set up nicely for the final rather than the mauling they will give Tipp on Sunday.

Mayo on the caps mentioned above for me as well, will split my stake into three.

Dublin at 1.76 the bet of the year for All Ireland , a weakish Kerry team and Mayo who lost to Galway, Lucky to beat Fermanagh & Tyrone and failed with Better Mayo Teams to play.Dublin are only toying with the opposition , they dont even wash the Dublin jersies after matchs so far this year because they havent broken a bead of sweat yet. Dublin have close on 40 inter county players, kerry might have 8 or 9, Mayo 6 or 7.
Report Bigwillystyle August 20, 2016 7:23 AM BST
Dublin have close to 40 intercounty players?  Dont make me laugh.  They have 4 or 5 class players and the rest are average.  Connolly,McMahon, McCarthy, Fenton and Kilkenny are are classs players.
You have Bastick, McAuley, Brogan, and Flynn who are all past it and two of those named cant even run.
You have Mememimen starting in the side at 32+ years of age. This fella wasnt good enough to start 3 years ago.
Dean Rock wouldnt get into the Leitrim side and is a donkey.  Goes to pieces in the big games as seen against Mayo last year.  You have a couple of lads who look half decent coming on when the games are over but there arent worth a sausage.

Dublin beat Mayo in a replay last year and since then are missing three of their best players.  They have played Laois, Meath, Westmeath and a Donegal side who had no interest.

Good luck with your betLaugh

The Mayo team are bottlers but should have enough to get over Tipperary. The Winner will come from the other semi, Dublin a few points ahead of Kerry.

Like watching the Cork footballers circa 09', without the talent and athleticism; very cynical as well.

Only hope is that they were training with September in mind.

mayo played in 4 classic semi finals in 2015 and 2014  they came away empty handed.todays game was a putrid affair with mayo stumbling over the line but they are in the final... tipp were v unlucky with the black card early in the game allied to some silly shot choices.as stated above they outplayed mayo for long periods. both oconnors were average at best today shooting a lot of wides.but the expectation is low..they will be 9/4 at least and no one will expect them to win it.dublin will be short 2/3 all stars and kerry have a few lads ageing....   finals are strange and can take on a life of their own...if they start and score a high % of the chances they get anything is possible. they need the oconnors, andy moran and aidan o shea on fire, get the tactics right and let her be lucky!!
Report Bigwillystyle August 22, 2016 9:12 AM BST
Mayo did what they had to do yesterday.  Very hard to get yourself up for a game when you know you are certain to win.  Mayo have won epic semi finals before and it has led to a slump in performance in the final.  After a high comes the inevitable low.  This is the perfect way to reach a final.
They have a very good record against Dublin over the past 7-8 years and are the only team that Dublin wont fancy playing.  They should ahve beaten them last year and Dublin are down 3 key players since then.  By luck or whatever Mayo have made the final and have yet to peak which is in stark contrast to their previous appearances in finals.  They started training 2 months behind every other team in the country and whilst not planned it has worked.
People are talking about Mayo not having played a Div 1 side.  Tyrone are a Div 1 team in all but name.

There has been nothing impressive about Mayo all season and i was chatting the auld lad last night saying the same as you BWS that they certainly are not guilty of peaking to early. However i really don't think they look the same team this year, Dublin would have destroyed that Tipp side last week. I suppose we will have to wait and see the final prices.

Kavvie i don't doubt you but these must be the same dimwits who say they hate playing against teams when they have a man less. The fact that you are playing against a team with less men than you means without doubt you have a better chance of winning, that is simply factual. Dublin are well ahead of kerry and it would be a serious shock if they were beaten by Kingdom. They are one of the best sides probably ever in the history of the game to say you would rather face them than an ageing Kerry side is rediculous.

mayo never beat kerry in croker. 5 points up with a few minutes left couldn't close it out. in any event - whoever they play will be rightful huge favorites because i've not see mayo play anything more than 20minute purple patch per game. the other 50 minutes the dubs or kerry will destroy them.

dublin look a bit vulnerable without their big players - a kerry win wouldn't surprise me but they can't be kicking wides like they did last year the game was there for them but they did a mayo on it. if both teams play to par dublin should win by 6-7 but so far dubs have't impressed me either.

Wonder is the Gooch fit and ready to do himself justice ?  If he is it could be a fascinating game , but Kerry have not looked smooth in recent games , need a lift inspiration wise against a very fit and athletic Dublin side .

To beat the Dubs you have to score goals , Kerry know that as well as anybody .  Roll on 3.30 , this is probably the real All Ireland final .
Report newapproach August 28, 2016 12:30 PM BST
The gooch is playing good football @ club level but that is a world away from the pace of inter county championship. If he is used as incompetently as he was in last years all ireland final, it will probably be the last time we see him in a Kerry jersey. They would be better off using him as a sub coming off the bench and rise the crowd.

This seriously needs to be Fitzmaurice's last game, he is a terrible manager who is fattening off a very lucky all ireland 2 years ago and is getting a very easy ride off the media. They have played the most horrible, negative football this year with an eye on stopping Dublin and have still managed to concede a hatful of goals against Tipperary and Clare. It could be a walkover today if Dublin show up in top form. They played terribly in last years final and still beat us. There's talk of him pulling a rabbit out of the hat but I just can't see it myself

Just saw that Gotchee, very out of character for a Kerry crowd.

Don't think the ref was the material factor in Dublin winning today(it was their skill, guile, pace and athleticism!), but I do think Kerry came out slightly the worse of the big calls.

Cluxton basically handed em' seven points as well.

With the minor teams Kerry have coming through, Dublin/Kerry should be some buckle over the next decade, something the GAA needs after some pretty tame stuff at times over the last couple of years.

This is now a vendetta for Kerry.

Dublin were by far the better team yesterday. They hit a load of wides in the first half, if they had converted half of them they would have been miles clear.

Fitzmaurice's tactics beggered belief yesterday. Kerry have been hugely successful @ pressing up on Cluxton's kickouts the past few season and thereby disrupting the whole rhythm of Dublin's gameplan. For some inexplicable reason, Fitzmaurice decided to give them the kickout yesterday apart for for only 10 mins in the match, in which Kerry scored 2-05. The fact is Kerry only scored 5 points in the first 25 mins and 6 points in the whole second half, that is not good enough @ this level. This was due to Fitzmaurice's horrible, defensive brand of football even though he has some of the most talented players in the country in his squad. Dublin play exciting and attacking football and the difference is unbelievable. Brolly is right, Kerry under Fitzmaurice are Donegal of the South.

Both goals Kerry scored were very lucky also. While Kerry earned the first goal through pressurising the kickout, it was a terrible ecision by cluxton to go short given the amount of Kerry forwards around. The 2nd goal was an attempt @ a point which dropped short. Without those 2 goals, Kerry would have been well beaten.

The decision to take off our best player in Paul Geaney and replace him with a corner back was one of the all time great decisions. The scores were level, you'd think that is the time to keep your scoring forwards on the pitch but Fitzmaurice obviously knows better. Geaney couldn't believe he was being taken off, the ref actually restarted play before he had left the field. Remember he took off O'Donoghue when they needed a goal in last years final as well. The decision to start the older fellas and bring on the younger players didn't work either. The younger lads with the legs should have started attempting to match the Dubs energy and bring on the wise old heads @ the end.

It is important to note Fitzmaurice never managed a senior team before he got the Kerry job, he only wrote articles in the Irish Examiner. A lot of the hacks in the media and his old team mates are calling for him to be kept on now. Anyone in their right mind now realises it is time for Fitzmaurice to go. He won a lucky all ireland in 2014 but there has been catastrophic mistakes in the years around that success which have cost the county All-Irelands. The negative, horrible style of play is very hard to also given the quality of our players and pedigree of our county. No doubt Dublin the better team but from a Kerry point of view, it was one one we could have nicked. No other manager has lost to Dublin as many times in such a short period of time. 4 points up with 10 mins to go, you should be winning.

As an aside, I thought the referee had a terrible game. It was the first time I ever saw a third player jump in beside the 2 contesting and field the ball during a hop ball and the referee didn't notice. No way was the challenge on Crowley a shoulder to shoulder either @ a crucial time. O Mahony wasn't penalised earlier for a similar challenge either. No question that Dublin were the better team and deserved to win but the media coverage about the referee having a great game is rubbish.

great performance by dublin.they dug deep and showed character when it was most needed.  whats a worry for them id say is the form of flynn and brogan and mdmca  the kerry tactics were baffling.they got 2.5 by pressurising cluxton coming up to ht..then in the second half they conceded the dublin kick outs?  also taking off kerrys best forward paul geaney and replacing him with a corner back was an incredible decision by eamon fitz(remember last year when kerry had 7 pts on the board all scored by geaney and o donoghue he took both of them off)the game was a draw at the time and in the melting pot..puzzling..?  anyway onto the final.and its hard to see mayo living with the dubs.unless they have show something like last years semi final form..not impossible but no evidence of it yet this year..anyone got 2 final tickets for me!?!?

Dublin should have won more easily , but Kerry could have nicked it .  Fluctuating game , Dubs made better calls with their subs .

O'Donoghue and Keane were good substitutions , maybe should have been done earlier . No idea why Geaney was taken off , other than injury .

Dubs prove again that you don't need outstanding mid fielders in the modern game . David Moran possibly Kerry's best on Sunday , good to see after a disappointing previous match encounter .

Fitmaurice may stay on , guess it's up to him , but who actually "calls" the substitutions in the management line up ?  It's not always the manager in my experience .

Kerry minors are probably the best I have seen in recent memory , footballers a plenty .  Takes 3 years normally to fit in some of them , than it might be interesting . Legs won it for the Dubs . But legs don't last forever .

Dubs will probably hockey Mayo , who are not as good as previous years , their leg fatigue catching up on some .

Great match on Sunday , and I don't share the view that Kerry were negative . Half time came just in time for the Dubs , they outplayed Kerry substantially in the second half .
