A priest had his throat slit in his own church in Normandy.

No one knows who the perpetrators are but I seem to remember a lot of those people who are not dangerous running their finger round their throat in a threatening gesture, might be worth looking into.

Yet another thread by this poster than belongs in the Politics/Chit Chat forums and not on the Irish Sports section, what in all honesty has a priests throat being slit got to do with Irish Sports, is very hard to fathom.
Report wildmanfromborneo July 26, 2016 12:58 PM BST
It might help to identify these gentlemen.

Plenty on here find it difficult to believe they coud be religion of peace members despite the constant clues.

Its also a wake up call to those demanding that Ireland take in thousands of these gentlemen, they might now reconsider.

I await Gemini01s contribution on Irish sport, its a long time coming.

Your missing my point wildman/walter, what has your post or subsequent post got to do with Irish Sports, answer NOTHING..
Like i previously stated the vast majority of your posts/ramblings have NOTHING whatsoever got to do with Irish Sports..
Somebody posted why this forum is dying a death, and where have the contributors gone well for me its because idiots like you posting stuff on here that has no relevance at all to Sport..
As you have stated previously to me on another thread, these killings, current affairs, refugees, and anything else that you post with an NON SPORT theme, mean an awful lot to you but to be honest about it from my perspective, they have no place on a SPORTS form, like i said POLITICS/CHIT CHAT is the place for them...
Report wildmanfromborneo July 26, 2016 3:08 PM BST
Where are your sporting posts ?

No posts are compulsory.

You may be right about my posts being ramblings but surely then you can just ignore my threads.
Report yourbestmate July 26, 2016 3:13 PM BST
New betfair accounts do not seem to get posting rights.

Many of the smarter posters that are constantly being referred to are probably gone due to premium charge and/or apathy at the lack of debate on here, or debating with users that they find tiresome.

What is left is largely recreational punters who generally like to chat and the chat is not limited to sporting events. It is not likely to change so there is not really much point giving out about it now.

i wonder if ozy will be putting a few of these non-dangerous individuals up in his bedsit if/when they arrive in ireland.
Report Ozymandius July 27, 2016 11:46 AM BST
I see the perpetrator was a French citizen of Algerian extraction.

An outrageous barbaric attack, but, once, again, like the vast majority of these cases, it cannot be laid at the door of the recent surge in Syrian refugees.

And yet dullards still make the pathetic claims that the 'welcome refugee' crowd are directly responsible etc.

The roots are far deeper and older than that, Frances 5 million Muslim population is as a result of their colonial domination in North Africa.  They grow up in disproportionately poor ghetto's in France and their alienation from mainstream society and from opportunities to advance makes their communities prime recruiting ground for peverse Fundamaentalist teaching and obscene indoctrination.

Even if, tomorrow, all transit of people as stopped from North Africa, the terror situation would remain largely unaltered.  There appears no shortage of European born, naturalised Jihadists.

These young Muslim kids in the French and Belgian suburbs are just like any other French or Irish kids.  They want to feel like they belong, they want an opportunity to work and get ahead.  And that is the only way this War on Terror can ever be won long term.

The refugee question should be seen as a separate and distinct issue;

Are their needs genuine?  Yes.

Should Europe help?  Yes.

Can Europe afford to?  Yes, with a tightening of our collective belts.

Can Europe better manage the identification, processing and flow of Refugees?  Yes.

Do countries like Germany need an influx of labour to boost their aging population?   Yes.

Is multiculturalism an issue?  Most definitely. Can it be overcome?  Not easily, but it has to be.

@ Yourbestmate, at near midnight only double figures were matched on some races at Galway, the exchange itself is now only following the bookmakers,it has deteriorated rapidily itself quite quickly.

@ Oz  "yet the dullards still make the pathetic claims that the "welcome refugee" crowd are directly responsible.

The welcome refugee crowd advocated allowing every chancer in, you yourself fell for it, only approx 20% were genuine, you thought most were.
Report pa lapsy July 27, 2016 12:28 PM BST
Keep clinging to it Oz,dupe yourself you only wanted the "nice" ones in.
Report Ozymandius July 27, 2016 12:54 PM BST
It's not a question of Nice ones, you PLANK, its a question of deserving refugees as opposed to opportunistic economic migrants.

I have no idea why you are so hung up on the %...as I have told you many times, nobody knows the % and it is largely irrelevant in the sense that even if it was 1% I would still be focused on helping this 1%.

I have no idea why you cant get your head around that.

There is a good reason why you spent your life working a jack hammer, you are simply not very bright.
Report Ozymandius July 27, 2016 1:07 PM BST
As for Germany needing an influx of Labour what about all the unemployed youth in Southern Europe.

By and large too lazy to move.  The Syrians by contrast have taken an epic hazardous route..I know which group would want working in my factory.
Report pa lapsy July 27, 2016 1:12 PM BST
I mightn't be very bright but unlike yourself i never held up a welcome refugee sign or joined the "pledge a bed " campaign either.

Why i am hung up about the percentage is simple, you maintained that they were at least 80% genuine cases, you don't want to hear that that % was in reality reversed, you were duped or naive, you have tried to change tack and now it is ONLY Syrian refugees whereas originally it was ALL refugees, you realised you dug a hole and squirmed to get out.

Market makers are gone pa.

The greedy ***** in Betfair made sure of that with the premium charge.

Now prices are thrown up with no care and attention and the odds are quickly adjusted for little or no liability.

The reality is OZY, they DON'T work ,their women ain't allowed as you well know ,so even if its 70% men and 30% women who have made their way into Europe even YOU should be able to work out the maths .Would your factory make a profit losing 30% , how many ofthem work here ,apart from the few in the kebab shops and a few cabbies..?..I'd say they cost us a pretty penny in welfare....

Why would yu consider that not to be bright?  I do welcme genuine refugees and I do pledge a bed! AKA being a humanitarian!

You have raised this several times.  I have responded at length, kindly consult my earlier replies.

I don't recall this 80% assertion,  perhaps you could copy and paste it seeing as it is of such enormous importance to you.  If I quoted a figure, I imagine I would have quoted a source as obviously neither you or have a bulls notion of the actual %.

You can assert as often as you want that my original assertion was flawed, the truth is that it was your perception of my assertion that was incorrect. When we went through this before you were unable to substantiate your perception by pointing towards what I said in black and white.  I cannot alter your perception.  Nor can you substantiate it.  it's a perception...and therefore has no basis in fact.

I have lost track of the number of times you have falsely claimed I have said A, B or C, Borneo.  A trademark of yours, the gratuitously false assertion, presented as a fact.  Most unseemly and speaks to a genuine lack of integrity. Only the handful of g0bsh1tes that trot after u on here, give your assertions any credence at this stage.

Wildman has you too well sussed Dozy, as you are so fond of proof bring up them statements yourself, easy if you really lost track of the amount of times he falsely said anything.

You may well believe the "there is no them, only us" statement you made directly below that cringeworthy staged photo on the "I am not dangerous" thread.
That in itself says ALL the refugees were genuine in your eyes.
They are certainly not "us", you will realise that possibly sometime, you may even realise the middle east and not Europe is the right place for them but don't bother with the apologist they are European terrorists in your 11.46 post, they follow islam,it is only adding to the problem down the line in any case.

And if I did say it, I imagine I would have provided a link to the source at the time.  Obviously neither I nor you have no idea of the true %, nor had I any idea it would be such a matter of enormous significance for you to be still prattling on about ad nauseum 6 months laterCry

I suppose its not reasonable for us to expect Ozymandius to remember what he has posted.

His posts are generally an article he read in some paper, followed by some plagiarised lines from some dreadful pop songs, topped off by some pictures.

Replies are generally ignored because of his inability to think on his feet, this causes huge frustration which soon descends into name calling and vulgar similes.

As constant as the Northern Star.

There were around 1 million Christians living 'relatively' peacefully under Assad in Syria mostly around the city of Aleppo which has been under siege from the rebels for the past year on and off. If we really gave a sh1t about the Syrians we would be going in and airlifting these people who couldn't afford to leave out.
When these people are being picked up in the Mediterranean, are they being asked where they got the equivalent of ten years wages to pay the smugglers or where are their sisters, daughters, wives etc.
The biggest problem here will be in 10/20 years time when they have established their ghettos, and make no mistake they will establish ghettos despite millions being pumped into teaching and training them in Western values and integration. How did the last suicide bomber from Paris last so long in Brussels? It's too late for most of Europe now but thanks to Brexit we still have hope in Ireland. It's still great to be able to go to a football match/Galway races without metal scanners and security checks, wonder how long that will last.
I'm not against us taking in some  genuine refugees, but it has to be done with the Australian model. There were boats sinking in the Pacific 10 years ago, not any more.
Assad has to be put back in power in Syria, he's not going to be defeated,  the chance to do a deal was missed over a year ago before Putin got involved. For the more Central political parties across Europe, they better start listening to people's thoughts on immigration or the far-right will take over.

The two lone wolves in this case had previously tried to get to Syria, presumably to engage in some orgy of throat slitting.

Amazingly they were allowed swan back, they didnt half repay the myriad of human rights lawyers who championed their cause.
