Sad day for his family.

Desperate news for the family, at least they were able to say their goodbyes to JT in his own home.Thoughts and prayers go out to all in Croom tonight.

Saw Gary interviewing Robbie Mc in the parade ring last night on ATR, terrible to wake up and hear this news this morning. RIP JT, you were the King of the Banks.

His ride on Rith Dubh in the national hunt chase at the festival to beat subsequent Irish national winner Timbera  will always be remembered as a vintage finish with Davy Russell on the runner up.

Rith Dubh had finished second in 6 of his previous 8 starts directly before the festival and was definitely quirky but JT certainly got the best out of him day that day.

Just caught Ruby Walsh speaking about JT on 6.1 Sport, he was great in fairness to him. Gave a full picture of the man.

A truly great human being and great horseman. He rode a point winner for me in his early days when u could get a bet on, the horse was not very good but he managed to get him up.  I still have the after race photo one of the real people   RIP JT
