Have a funny feeling Carravagio won't run in either the Phoenix Stakes, that he will be a late withdrawal in the week.
They'll figure they probably have the winning of it with the yoke that won yesterday or something else (another Gr 1 winning 2yo for Coolmore), and if Mehmas were to beat him, it makes Carravagio look even better without leaving his box. AOB made slight reference to it already and they are hyping Peace Envoy comparing him to the Rock. Might be a play to be made in the AP market the week of the race. |

The fact Ger Lyons' are being wound up to be sold must surely have a baring. Long history of his falling short in 2yo Group races in mid-summer at this stage. Did well to get what he did out of Capello sansavero post Ascot, I'd say that was a relief to him. They didn't bite again with Psychadelic funk.

Neilld.....They turned down a huge offer before the Coventry.

Really, I've misspoken then and I apologise. Thanks GANT. I know we've had Dawn Approach and big enough an owner as Sean Jones has become, wouldn't you always take the money with an early 2yo? They must like him.

Jones might not have the final say. They probably have enough decent ones this year to foot the bill after selling to Hong Kong and the states. Medicine Jack would cover a fair bit of the yearling outlay.
I think they want a Group 1 horse. |
