I am truly amazed that nobody on this forum has commented on Robbie's great achievement on Friday nite at Mallow racecourse.
He only started training on 1st May ,has only 4 horses ready to race, ran the lot 2 winners a 2nd and an unlucky run.
When Joseph ( son of Aidan) o Brien launched his first salvo of runners everybody was thrilled and amazed, ffs wake up everything has been in place for years .
Robbie deserves every line of praise that he gets . 15 months ago he was paralysed and now with incredible strength of mind he has trained winners.
Lads all the bitching and bantering aside he has achieved more in those 15 months than most of us have achieved in a lifetime
Long may his star as trainer ascend
In a week when a Fallon retired , racing got a new star to look forward to

Couldn't agree more,it was some start.
What's more amazing is the silence of all those disability groups,here's a man who was one of our greatest ever amateur jockeys,gets paralysed but overcomes that by embarking on a training career and has some start. It speaks volumes for the character of the man that he has acquired some decent owners. |

Perhaps his best achievement on the day was to get Call Vinnie to step up significantly on his form for Dermot Weld. Super start.

Call Vinnie didnt step up at all on his form from Weld. On his best form for Weld he would have won on the bridle. Go away and read the form again. The winner of that race is useless.

I concur with all that is being said about McNamara and he seems like he will be a success as a trainer and i wish him the best.
IMO he would not have the horses or the support from the start if he had not had the accident. |

Sure, on bumper form from 2 years ago. He stepped up significantly on hurdles form from Weld, unless you think there's much merit in being beaten 18 lengths by Alamein, receiving 8 pounds (excluding jockey claim).

I think there is far more merit in being beaten 18L by Alamein receiving 8 pounds than there is being beaten 4L by Icantsay receiving 7 pounds. You can make up your own mind but i know which i would consider the better run!

this has happened very quickly and congrats robbie. remarkable achievement and im sure he will get plenty of deserved support due to these two wins.

Hopefully that will be the case BDJ , but lets not forget that M O'Brien and Shane Broderick were reasonably well supported when they started training , then owners seemed to drift away

i always loved robbie in the saddle classy rider..as with everyone i hope he makes it,with luck he will get the horse he needs to make a impact.
