As of 2 hours ago the going for tomorrows JUMPS meeting in good. This is after 14mm of rain and continued watering since decs. Also in addition to this there was 40mm of rain between entries and decs. Why didnt the racecourse commence watering before decs and why has Limericks drainage obv changed without any public notification?
On the 17th June for their flat meeting, there was rain nationwide the week coming into the meeting. For this flat meeting there were a high number of a) non runners due to ground and b) jarred horses from the meeting. for the 7f 2yo race on the day they clocked 1m 35.05 compaired to 1m 32.46 the year before - good to firm, 1m 38 the year before that - Good, Good to firm in places. 1m 35 before that etc etc..
Now my gripe does not end here.. they had a replacement meeting some months back which was rearranged from the xmas days they lost. They only annouced the programme 24hrs before entries. Not only this but when I rang the racecourse the days before asking for the programme asap I was told a 2m5 0-109 which in fact turned out to be a 80-95 if memory is correct.
Therefore how are we mean to prepare horses for owners for certain racedays when the above happens? And is the irish racing industry going to constant employ racecourse managers who are connected to people in the racing industry? (recent cork decision also comes to mind)
I now ask for some answers from the likes of Mr Kavenagh and Mr O Neill to the above gripe.
If they is one sure think in irish racing is you will never get a right going report.I find it hard to see that the going is good to firm.On they web site they have the going for last novermber if thats any good?
