Lads, I am going to leave the city limits and head up to at least one of Bellewstown evening meetings this week, any idea which night is best Thur, Fri or Sat?

Also workrider, Pa,  etc. Please pass on any fancies ☺

You have a mixed, flat and jumps card in that order,so it is your preference though the last day has a 30k handicap which might have a few interesting/decent ones.
I,m sure a few lads thats left that put up pre race thoughts might make an effort for the meeting.

I remember a few years ago, the top rated Irish 2 year old won his maiden at Bellewstown.
I can't remember his name. Can anyone enlighten us?
It is a great little track with a wonderful  atmosphere.

I thought the flat races in general have a Dundalk look without the sand, very competitive for the 2 days.
I'm not backing either but surprised Aimhirgin Lass 7.55 Tipp is fractionally down in trip as stayed the last day so well, the big question at Bellowstown is how will Mai Fitz Jak get on against very seasoned handicappers?
Though there is a bit of one pacedness with Sea of Blue(8.55 T) he plugged on well enough at Leoparstown,Donnacha going elsewhere was offputting.
After yesterdays shocker with Touch of Grey, the football and WGC will get precedence this evening.
Enjoy your days there.

My Maninkineko in the last in Tipp should be a 6/4 shot if trained by anyone with a clue.  He is trained by a clueless clown.  Got a shocking ride 2 runs back and still won and has about 20 pounds in hand.  He then decided to run him on bog ground off top weight in a hurdle.  It beggared belief but he should win tonight.

I have gone with Gordon Eliiots horse 'Casual Approach' in the handicapp, slection based mostly on better value option, seems to have been decent money around for it through out the day...You can be sure after me backing Casual Approach, Mai Fitz Jak will bolt up even further than its Listowel victory Grin

Thanks for the feedback Pa and BWS.

Great Evening racing up in Bellewstown this evening. It was my first visit to this track even though its only about a 25 min drive from me.

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere on a very picturesque racecourse. The course felt like I had been transported back to the 70's (In a good way!) although I doubt the place has changed much since the Yellow Sam and Barney Curley days!

Pa, Workrider, BigWillystyles, Cloone river etc. thanks for all the thoughts and fancies, please keep them coming!

Heading back up for tomorrows card! Grin

I hope you had an umbrella!!!!!!!, it looked a filthy evening at both tracks.

Hard lines to Cloone River, well backed and just bullied out.
Can be argued Jemblatt just held on,if it runs tomorrow again almost certainly won't be the currently quoted 6/1 and should place at least.
It will be at least soft and probably bordering on heavy with any more wet stuff.

Ye the rain was coming down at the start yesterday evening alright Pa but it brightened up into a decent evening at the end!

There was a going changed announced after the first last night - to soft, which in fairness a blind man on a galloping horse would have been able to spot.

Plenty of rain around today so I would expect the Heavy side of soft (if that makes sense).

I got on Jemblatt earlier Pa, so fingers crossed! seems to have been decent support for it in the market today. Excited

I think irs the nrs more than a move tbf PE,be disappointed if doesn't place on form and hopefully last nights race which didn't appear too hard a ride hasn't left much of a mark. Hope he does it myself.

Another great evening up in Bellewstown last night (aside from the weather).

Pa..cheers for the heads up on Jemblatt, 100% spot on! It looked a wide open race but he won it handy enough in the end - great call Grin

Workrider - Palmetto Dunes looked like the winner a furlong out, just seemed like the heavy ground caught up with him, IMHO definitely one to keep an eye out for at Galway.

Thanks Lads

No worries Park Express, that was comfortable enough.
Not a bad card jumps wise this evening but a no bet one to me.
Very obvious and not generally a fan of short ones but The Gurkha looks a fair evens shot.
My Dream Boat maybe will come out ahead of Time Test and Western Hymn but there doesn't look a whole lot between them,Hawkbill is a question mark but a big leap in class to overcome.
The Gurkha's French Guineas and even bare 2nd at Ascot looks good enough all in.
I'm going to keep it simple today.

Night generation has a decent chance @ around 6/1 tonight. Has had a couple of nice spins over hurdles and has been allocated a favourable handicap mark relative to his flat rating. Should go pretty close tonight hopefully.
