Firstly its a ridiculous rule,a gust of wind can cost you a shot.
Secondly to have no decision til they interview you is even more ridiculous.
Its also affecting all the leaders, shots getting dropped galore and not a birdie in sight. Amazingly Jim Furyk still in it.

I've never read a positive post from Dan Chipowski.
I'm bitterly disappointed for Shane Lowry but delighted Johnson has finished the tournament in style, almost Harringtonesque.

this wasnt a choke.........its a deadly course and dj just outplayed him........people on forums like to pick a guy they can hammer in order to make themselves feel better about there own lives.

Correct. Certainly fatigue played a part,he had to finish his third round this morning.
On another note they may pitch that ball moving on the green rule as its manifestly unfair. Its also ambiguous. All the commentators said no penalty, all the top golfers said no penalty yet he was still penalised a shot. Its never a good thing when the top commentators and players don't fully understand the rules.

USGA official just on , plonker . Dodged the issue and their actions . Officialdom got it wrong , it is a bad rule anyway , it always was . Padraig suffered something similar years ago and they had to amend the rule somewhat . You should only be punished if you touch the ball , lining it up and it moves independently should not incur a penalty ( and the ball should be replaceable if it "blows away" .).
Golf rules are basically over a hundred years old , and generally have stood the test of time . But 100 years ago the greens seldom got to even 10 on the stimpmeter ( not that they had that then ) .
Shane Lowry just faded , 3 3 putts in a row cost him his chance . He'll be back though .

spurs..........u r spot on about dusty, his ball striking is off the charts.........him and jason day should rack up many majors. tiger is wasting his time trying ti come back. he wont be able to compete with these guys, wil get frustrated and injure himself.
i wonder where the game is going now that they can hit the ball nearly 400 yards.

I thought from the moment on the second tee when he used an iron instead of his driver he was waving the white flag,he ended up in the same spot in 2 shots as he could have been in 1.

You hit the nail on the head Punchestown, and for me it had nothing to do with fatigue or the DJ penalty or anything else for that matter bottom line he choked, he had more bogeys yesterday than the first three rounds put together and was only 50% for greens in regulation, his lowest by far for three rounds by some way. As for fatigue, more rubbish, them players think nothing of playing two rounds a day, some Ryder cup players play full 18 morning and afternoon dont they..

Lowry just had a bad day at the office, that's golf. He didn't lose it because of DJ's penalty or because he wasn't fit enough. He didn't choke either... his 76 on Sunday was better than McIlroy's opening round so did McIlroy choke too?
